Again was brought down by the repetitive of Mike Sheahan. His story is well known - rugby player and Canadian at that, becomes premiership player.
So what I would have asked him was:
Given his background, did he feel that it was an advantage to play at Sydney instead of a Melbourne club?
Because of his unconventional background and thinking of things differently, did he bring anything to his game that was an advantage??
What did he make of the enthusiasm for football in Melbourne?
Has he spoken to Mason Cox?
Do other interested North American athletes contact him about the potential of following in his footsteps?

That last question is one I would've like asked. Especially going against that American fella from St.Kilda last year (can't think of his name).

To rehash Fitzroy is a waste of time. We know the club was broke - so asking questions about lack of payment and all that is just dumb.

He should have asked more about his playing time at the Swans.
What were his feelings when he went there?
Could he sense the transformation?
What was it like playing for Barassi and then Eade?
How does he compare the Swans he joined to the Swans now?
I didn't mind the interview but unless I missed it at some stage, wanted to hear what his relationship was like with Barry Hall? Seemed to be the only player in his coaching career that he had a real falling out with; seemed to be quite bitter when Hall went to play with the Bulldogs.

You didn't miss it. Mike didn't ask it :/

Anyone see Mike and his daughter on 360 last night? His progeny is playing for Collingwood. Was waiting for him to ask her how much she was getting paid but it didn't happen.
I was laughing so hard I couldn't hit the like button. Nice avatar and one of his better movies.

Yep, a bit of a shame really as Pyke comes across as a really interesting, articulate, driven and likable guy.

It's a great story which Sheahan failed to dig into.

I think driven is the core value that shows through for Pyke. Like when he confessed to not recognising Polly Farmer's name he then turns round and studies the history of the game in depth so he never does it again.

just wait for the hawthorn fans have a cry about the line in the sand game, mentioning the incident of Lloyd and forgetting what started it all:rolleyes:

Aren't they two different games/incidents, five years apart? Are they really considered to be "linked"?

Players who played both Round 11, 2004 ('Line in the Sand' game) and Round 22, 2009 (Lloyd's final game):

Hawthorn
Chance Bateman
Campbell Brown
Luke Hodge
Sam Mitchell
Michael Osborne

Essendon
Dustin Fletcher
Matthew Lloyd
Adam McPhee
Mark McVeigh
Andrew Welsh
Jason Winderlich

Not me. I love that stuff.

Regarding his hit on Sewell... I was pissed off at the time, naturally, but in the light of day it was a leader doing what needed to be done. It was a game with a lot of feeling and arguably that act won his team the game.

Dirty? Sure. But its not ****ing netball. No issue at all from me.

I think Lloyd is a great pundit. He is honest and insightful even if he speaks like he's deaf. Looking forward to open Mike

Saw the last ten minutes of Pike. As much as I didn;'t enjoy hearing about 2012, I really enjoyed it.

You can tell he came from a Rugby Union background (ergo well educated) as he was objective, honest, likable and well spoken. Seems intelligent as well.

Not suprised he made it at the highest level.

That he played so much better than Mumford in the 2012 GF, I think influenced the Swans in letting him go. When Mumford is on, he is the best player in the league, but this doesn't happen consistently enough.
LOLWUT?

He wouldn't even be the best ruckman in the league. NicNat and Goldy ahead of him, as evidenced by their AA's.

Really enjoyed Pyke, close to the best of the year. Need more of these guests on.

Didn't seem like he made many close friends while at Sydney, also brought up his wife a lot.
Would you prefer he talked about someone elses wife?

I love it when Mike Pyke gave it to that fat oxygen theif Brian Taylor.

How that dickhead keeps a job is beyond me.

Yes.

And when Sheehan askes him to slow down, my god that was cringe worthy.

Think Sheehan should retire and someone like Gerard Whatley should step in.

The 8-10 year olds seem to like him & his wow-wee's.
