I'm guessing he asks a lot of these individuals listed in the previous two pages and I'm assuming many would politely decline.

Or maybe even impolitely.

Barassi would be a great guest, and could cover the whole hour easily.

Some other good guests that Mike could have on:
  • Craig Bradley (Record games holder for Carlton and started his career at Port Adelaide in the SANFL)
  • Gary Dempsey (Brownlow winner and Bulldogs and North player)
  • Peter Daicos (The Macedonian Marvel and renowned for his goalkicker exploits)
  • Shane Crawford (Brownlow winner and played in the 2008 premiership)
  • John Cahill (Port Adelaide legend as a player and coach. Also briefly coached Collingwood in the 80s).
  • Barry Davis (Ex Essendon and North Melbourne player and premiership player with both clubs)
  • Carl Ditterich (St Kilda and Melbourne hardman)
  • Russell Ebert (SANFL legend)
  • Brad Hardie (This would ruffle feathers)
  • Robert Harvey (St Kilda legend and Brownlow winner)
  • Darren Jarman (Goalkicking magician and premiership player for the Hawks and Crows)
  • Alex Jesaulenko (Hall of Fame legend, Carlton premiership player and coach, renowned for his mark in the 1970 GF).
  • Paul Kelly (Swans legend and Brownlow winner)
  • Dean Kemp (Solid Eagles premiership player in the 1990s)
  • Chris Langford (Hawthorn premiership player and backman)
  • Nigel Lappin (Brisbane premiership player and renowned for playing in the 2003 GF with broken ribs)
  • Michael Long (Essendon premiership player and renowned for his off field work with Indigenous Australians).
  • Ross Lyon (Player and coach of multiple clubs)
  • Mick Malthouse (Been a few years since he's coached, so maybe his perspective has changed on things).
  • Peter Matera (West Coast legend)
  • Peter McKenna (Collingwood goalkicking legend)
  • Ian Nankervis (Geelong legend who played with the club from 1967 to 1983)
  • John Nicholls (Carlton and Hall of Fame legend)
  • Michael O'Loughlin (Swans player who played 303 games and kicked 521 goals)
  • Bernie Quinlan (Goalkicking legend of the 1970s)
  • Don Pyke (West Coast premiership player and Adelaide coach)
  • Richardson brothers (Wayne and Max)
  • Barrie Robran (SANFL legend)
  • Barry Round (Footscray, Sydney and Williamstown player)
  • Wayne Schimmelbush (Key member of North's 70s team under Barassi)
  • Michael Tuck (426 games and 7 time premiership player)
  • Tim Watson (One of the youngest players to debut, 3 time premiership player with Essendon and the father of Jobe Watson)
  • Murray Weideman (Collingwood premiership player and captain. Coach of Collingwood in a turbulent period in the 70s).
I'm sure he's asked Carey, Ablett Sr and Lockett to be interviewed, but they've all declined.
I was sure Nicholls and Ditterich have been on. Daicos rings a bell.

JJ seems like a decent bloke, and I always liked him as a player (tough ball winner) even though he played for the campaigners, but that was pretty bland interview.
Forgiven him for the Blakey bump?

Agree flat last night even for a Bomber fan. Looking forward to another Bomber next week...70s full forward Geoff Blethyn

Yeah another boring one. The Dale Morris one the week before was slightly better with the talk about battles with certain defenders but still this show has declined so much.
Morris and JJ are good blokes and great players, but they're 2 of the most straight up no fuss footballers to have played, they're not really characters of the game with interesting stories to tell, hence why the last 2 weeks have been fairly vanilla. Frankly, this whole season has been like that if you include Ward from round 1.

Forgiven him for the Blakey bump?
I'd actually completely forgotten about it until they showed it last night. It was a dog act, and JJ even admitted that he'd get 4+ weeks for it today as he jumped off the ground and deliberately hit him in the end.

It was 20 years ago... I'm over it.

“dog act” is a bit of an Over exaggeration fella.....

JJ said he didn’t go into the bump to hurt him on purpose but that he did brace for contact - it was a head clash. Johnson just came off it better.

most of the shit done in that time period would get weeks now.

head clash. LOL!

yeah, JJ's shoulder clashed with Blakey's head, after he'd jumped off the ground to launch into him.

He needs more blokes who were good players but also characters in the game. e.g Fev, Allen Jakovich, Ballantyne, Roughy..

This. One of the most whirlwind AFL careers yet had such an impact. Amazing to think it was only 54 games but boy - could he turn a game on its head when in the mood and the delivery was right. Was very entertaining on The Front Bar but would like to see Mike tackle this one from a few angles.

not to go much into a 15 yr old incident but you have cropped out the photo where the impact actually occurred and also you must be calling JJ a liar?

let it go lol

That shot is the actual point of impact. Previous obvious that Blakey's head is in line with JJ's shoulder.

If only Mike could learn how to interview.

Idea & conception 9/10....Execution & delivery: 1/10
Yep. I don't respect Robert Craddock as a sports journo but he does a much better job on the cricket interview equivalent of Sheahan's show.

Even the 'Grumpy Old Men' show from the first Fox Footy in the mid-00s could do better interviews than Mike does.
