Society & Culture Optimist or Pessimist?

really depends on my mood.

I'm a bit of perfectionist.. if shit starts to go wrong/not the way I planned I tend to crack it/give up very quickly.

but if things are going well I tend to have an extremely positive outlook on things (but i'd imagine that's the case with most people)

im very pessimistic.....always getting told how negative i am but i am a realist

I've been a pessimist my whole life really but that's due to the fact that I just haven't been able to see a decent future for myself, and I worry about the stupidest things for weeks on end. I'm beginning to become more optimistic though, I start uni in a couple of weeks and things will hopefully turn out well in the end.

Pessimist, but not a bad one, like my mum.

She muddled up a few words when she was speaking, TWICE! Apparently during the day, she said "Where is the par carked?" and then later in the night said "I'm gonna shump in the jower" (jump in the shower) I didn't hear it but it got to the point where she actually sat us down one day and said "ok guys *starts to get teary* I've had a few turns with my speech .. it's not looking that great, I'm going to the doctor tomorrow" :o

Our dog also got a burr stuck in her foot once, and yelped in pain. Mum thought that she'd have to get her foot amputated.

Also when the footy is on she'll say "well we've lost" or turn the TV off all together if the opposition team gets the first 2 goals.

I'm definitely not an optimist, I think too much into things to just accept when things go right, but I don't feel I'm negative all the time either. I do always think of the worst case scenario, prepare for that and go from there. I've learned never to assume something will work out. I guess that's pessimistic...

I think it runs in cycles for me. There are stages where I'm at my best and everything I do works perfectly and so many good things just seem to happen from nowhere.
But then there are also times where what can go wrong will go wrong and I'm not game to take any big risks.
So yeah I see it as one big cycle with an equal amount of highs and lows

I'm definitely an optimist :thumbsu: Was a bit of a pessimist throughout the last couple years of high school but since then I'm more sure of myself, confident, and I guess I've learnt the value of thinking positively.

Probably leaning towards pessimist, but I would consider myself be a realist. Both ends of the spectrum are irrationally based, which I don't consider myself to be at most times.

That said, there is nothing wrong with a spice of idealism either, which I always try to incorporate.
