Bin Laden was not an operational figure since the US invaded Afghanistan so it was only ever going to be a symbolic victory. That said the classic action movie operation will do a lot more for US prestige than a drone strike, especially returning with his body as a trophy. Ten years would seem OK to me given him being protected by the Pakistani government.

It has long been recognised that you don't leave a physical place like a burial spot to act as a focus for nutters. Both the Russians and Americans made sure of that post WW2 with the Nazis who were executed e.g. Goering. Likewise you'll never find Sadaam Hussein's grave - there isn't one.

So let me get this straight, this is the version of events we're supposed to swallow with no evidence whatsoever beyond the US government's word:

1. No Americans were injured despite a huge helicopter crash which conveniently set Bin Laden's entire compoud on fire, thus destroying all forensive evidence at the scene.

2. The US government have known about his possible location since August last year, and yet there was no other alternative than to shoot to kill, leaving no survivors.

3. Within a few hours of being shot, OBL's body has been DNA tested (by who??), taken into a chopper and flown hundreds of miles to the sea, then unceremoniously dumped into the ocean, thus destroying all evidence and preventing anyone else from examining the corpse, conducting an autopsy, or indeed gathering any proof at all. Wait, and this is all because of Muslim tradition???

Riiiiight.

Look, maybe that was how it went down. But it's gonna take a hell of a lot more than just Obama's word for me to believe it. Like, perhaps a photo not from over 5 years ago, and without photoshop layers this time please.

Stand by for a supposed "reprisal attack" that is oh so conveniently connected to Iran, Libya, or any of the other Middle Eastern states the US/Israel wants better control of. Just an excuse to pull the troops out of Afghanistan and send them somewhere else, if you ask me.

Well I guess the reality is that none of us will never really know, because we're not privy to the information.

But it seems highly likely, to me, that he has been dead for several years now. Don't forget that he was reported to need dialysis treatment for his kidney problems since 2001. He was reported as ill and in hospital in late 2001 and had his death proclaimed by several world leaders (eg. Musharaf) in 2002. This is all online if you dig around for it.

In the end these are the facts we know: OBL was a CIA Operative on the payroll of the USA in the 90s under the name Tim Osman, a rich Saudi national whose entire family was flown out of America soon after 9/11 under the watch of the US Government. He has never been formerly tried by the FBI for September 11. He was reported as very ill years ago. He has not been seen or heard from since 2002 except for a video later proven to be fake.

Another fact: The US is trillions of dollars in debt and fighting an unwinnable war in Afghanistan, which it entered under the premise of finding and capturing Osama Bin Laden. Killing the Al-Qaeda boogeyman provides a convenient excuse to remove themselves from that arena without losing face.

All I'm saying is a healthy suspicion never hurt anyone. Especially when there's no proof whatsoever. And especially if there is an apparent attack against America in retaliation for this death, which the US then uses as a reason to attack another country. Always look to who actually benefits.
