Contested marks at training are way easier then at game level.
Steene looks good

They are but if you look at his SANFL debut in the seniors he showed pretty sticky mitts and a couple of those tap out to advantage were excellent,I was going to say sublime but that might be a bit over the top but they were bloody 1st class. When he 1st came on the radar people said he may be a bit skinny but he has a great build for a ruck just like Grundy but looks like he can take a grab.I think the coaches and staff have done a fantastic job to get him where we have.

The more I see of him the more excited I get he knows where to park himself a kick behind play and can grab them also. I was quite cheesed off we never grabbed a ruck or ruck forward in the draft but I think as Buck,s said we have got a F------ beauty here alright and we got a 2nd rd pick for next draft also, superb.

Banking draft picks is important because I think the only way we get a budding Riewoldt/Pavlich is to package them up for a club, with a gun Father Son, who has a top 3 pick.

Don’t know anything about him but filling the last spot with a 19 year old specialist ruckman makes infinitely more sense than a 27 year old journeyman half back flanker. He has all the time in the world to develop and doesn’t have a lot of competition given where our list is at.

He is a pretty good runner for a ruck and good skills even at ground level. He said he is working on his forward craft given it’s not a role he has played too often.

I do not know if Buck,s has spoken about Steene but they were the great man,s words about some football match or piece of play, a bit of poetic license
on my part I know so I cannot provide you with a link to Buck,s thoughts on Oscar but they were mine for sure when we signed him.
