I've heard criticism of Moore that used the "not an appropriate forum" line. For fuch's sake, political speeches have been commonplace at the Oscars since I can remember.

As for Moore himself, releasing his book "Stupid White Men" at the time of 9/11 was even gutsier. It couldn't be easy being a dissenter in the USA at the moment (yeah, and a lot of other places, too, I know, I know).
