Will Vaughan have the aggots to set us a semi-realistic chase or will he step on our throats by Boycotting it for as long as possible?

I already know the answer as we all do, unfortunately.

Probably will set us a couple of hundred to get in the final hour. About as gutless as walking off yesterday.

Marshy is more of an attacking player than Vaughan will ever be Noddy and would have the balls to make it interesting at least.

Yep I agree..The ashes are at stake. If I were the English, I would be using the bad light at every option. Too be honest, it's amazing going into he 5th test we still had a chance, the Poms have smashed in nearly every department. Their 4 paceman have made out top 6 look like bunnies.

As for Gilchrist. It really worried me when in the last test he said that despite the scoreboard or status of the match, he will continue to play his own game and won't change his style. Pretty arrogant and selfish statement I would have thought.

I can't believe what i'm hearing. Why should the Poms give us a look in? Why should they try and make a game of it? The ashes are now theirs for the losing. I would be taking bad light at every opportunity if I was them. Let's not forget in our stupidity, we also accepted bad light the previous 2 days.

Sounds like pistols at dawn type stuff Nod. The Poms have been sendsational and thoroughy desire the win. I thought we would win the series 2-1. For the "ageing" Aussie players to come out and arrogantly predict a 5-0 whitewash would have given your guys a fair degree of motivation I would have thought - hmmmm sounds familiar.

Congratulations, your guys thoroughly outplayed us. If it wasn't for Warne and Lee the series would have been done and dusted after the 4th test.

I don't know about pistols unless the distance was no more than a metre or 2. :D

The game is not over yet Springy & i shall not be pouring myself a sherry just yet. ;)

Ah Mark i'm afraid you too are living in dreamland if you believe Ponting would not be doing the same if the boot was on the other foot. :)

The fat lady has entered the building though Nod.

The Aussies need a miracle. Warney can only do so much & badly needs some support. Would love to see us chasing a target down in the last session, but I reckon the Poms will play us out of the Ashes. They have been the better team & the Aussies need to do some soul searching, as we have far too many passengers.

Here we come. Pity about the drop chances off Pietersen or we would be on our way.

Sorry Im a bit late with this one Noddy old son, yes I agree with you as he is such a defensive son of a pork power. But I said of Marshy and my old idol Chappelli.

Contratulations of the win and hope we kick some serious pommy ass in 15 months on our terms.

I think the Aussie crowds will be looking for revenge and be totally feral.
The poms will wonder what hit them. If they thought their crowds were the 13th man, and they were magnificent, this will become more of a footy crowd from now on.

Hope your happiness continues for another two weeks. :D

Where do we go from here??? The players looking over their shoulder should be:

Martyn - Finished,
Hayden - Finished,
Gilchrist - Pressure from Haddon,
Kaspa - Finished,
Gillespie - Not done and dusted yet. Forget about the hair and concentrate on cricket.

Let's not forget that McGrath, Langer and Warney are all over 34+. Let's hope it doesn't get ugly like the Border rebuild.

Little disappointed in all the Tait hype. His good balls are few and far between. Can't afford to have Tait and Lee in the same side IMO - too expensive.

Congrats Nod - Your boys were sensational. Apart from Bell, I can't think of anyone that didn't put in a contribution.

Hey noddy we havent made the GF ..the sun wont shine till then. Footballs still on noddy dont worry about a game of cricket half a world away :o

I haven't forgot the footy PC & while i'm on a roll get on the Crows for the flag. ;)

It's been 18 long years having to put up with 2 sons, 1 daughter & better half who have shown no mercy where the Ashes is concerned so forgive me if i now take a small amount of time to savor the wonder of winning back the ashes while the Aussies still have Warne & McGrath in the side. :)

Get your SA cap off. ;) Gillespie is most definitely finished. A real pity that his decline happened so quickly as I loved watching him play.
Katich better start living up to the hype. I've never rated him personally.

We cant replace everyone you mentioned as it would disrupt .......................what was those words again.................team structure.

I just dont see whos coming through with consistancy to replace them.

I think injuries aside, Warne and pidgeon will play on until at least the poms are at our back door, wanting revenge.

I think Gillespie is more dangerous than Kaspa, when on song. Surely, you cant just lose form overnight, as he has done. There must be some reason for it.

I didn't say to replace all. However, yo would have to think the majority will be gone within 1-3 years. That's a huge hole.

There are a lot of bowlers more dangerous than Kaspa. It's not an achievement. ;)
At Gillespie's age you can lose form overnight. Some will slowly deteriorate over the years, but in other cases they simply just lose it altogether. That's what I think has happened with Dizzy. I hope to be wrong though.

Hmmm i'm not sure, I think he's 29 or 30. Has gone from a very good bowler to a very bad bowler almost over night. We need Gillespie to regain form. I think this test has shown once you go past the great Warne and McGrath there sn't alot of options. Lee has a big heart and a real goer but he can also go for 0-100.

My 11 for the first super test (not that it is appropriate any more)

1) Langer
2) Hayden
3) Ponting
4) Clark
5) Symonds
6) Gilchrest
7) Shane Watson (alrounder)
8) Warne
9) Lee
10) McGrath
11) Tait
12) Hussey (Can come into the side to open if Hayden fails first test)

In: Andrew Symonds (deserves a shot), Shane Watson (Groom him as the next Flintoff)

Out: Damien Martyn, Simon Katich
