Re: Grant Thomas falls...

Don't see why the thread would need to be deleted. Maybe it just needs an OT in the thread title. ;)

Depends if you just logged on. Grant Thomas has been sacked which means St. Kilda might win something now :(
Yeah I saw he had been sacked I just didnt really understand why the initial post was worded the way it was.

I don't agree as we are not the St. Kilda board. Let them debate over the topic. :)

Re: Grant Thomas falls...

that was my 3 but I think Pagen may be safe now, I am thinking it may be Malthouse, although he did well this season, maybe there is something to his health problems?

They are getting ****e loads of publicity with tv terry and his antics so he is safe with 11 wins a year even though the gap between the best and the rest is massive.

Re: Grant Thomas falls...

GT didnt look too happy when i saw him on the news tonight!!

What i cant understand- the news/ST etc are describing it as a big shock, yet i dont see it as a shock at all. He had to go. How he lasted longer than The Messiah i do not know!

KG and Cornesy will be talking to GT tommorrow. Apparently he is fuming
They showed a bit of the press conference on WLF and while butters was explaining the decision Thomas was twiddling his thumbs looking to the side and at the wall.:D

Interesting body language.

Buggar, I was hoping that the Saints would continue with GT as he has managed to avoid a GF with one of the best squads.

Any chance they could bring back Tim Watson?

They've got a long history of sacking coaches but for once they have made the right decision.

His comments after the Melbourne final loss about having the most 6 day breaks of any team in the competition and about no one being able to win without their best players on the park underline the fact that they have made the right call.

When you compare it to coaches like Roos and Craig who treat obstacles as a challenges to be relished, he comes up well short. Craig always talks about us having to be good enough and strong enough as a club to be able to cope with injuries, road trips, short breaks, media pressure, public expectations, premiership favouritism etc.

my thoughts exactly.

it is Alleged on SEN that St Kilda hired a head hunter recruitment firm to sound out candidates 2 weeks prior to the finals. that's right, when they looked a decent shot at finishing in the top 4!!

I am not convinced this did actually happen, but IF true it is a truly shocking way to undermine the team preparations. at a time when you all pull together, some smart arses are already plotting against the coach.

honestly, you couldn't make it up.

Blight tried to change the culture and lost.

The next coach will do no different to Thomas unless he succeeds where Blight Failed.
