Not too much to argue with there Spinny. Smart is a monty to get in IMO, because the present incumbent, the oh so dynamic Vini, is more renowned for doing absolutely sweet fk-all over a prolonged period - 8 years?? - rather than anything positive. In fact quite famous - make that infamous - for exactly that.

They actually say that in cricket terms, her list of achievements hasn't troubled the scorers.

As for that Kiwi Rann ...... pfffft. So far right ....... out of sight. Must start every day by saying "what's the popular thing to go out beating my chest and pontificating that I'm going to fix today"

Mr "people are telling me" Rann.

is there anything that happens in this State that he doesn't blame on the Bikies????

 :D

Anything else he just blames on the Liberals, even if it happened during his time in government.

Like Liberal are any better, like the Land Tax issue. Those morons like Dean Brown were the guys that created the land tax problem to start with back in 1994 when they lowered the tax free threshold so that they could collect more tax. They now turn around and say that its Labor's fault????? At least Labor have done something about correcting another poor mistake the previous liberal government had (which in my opinion was the worst state government I can ever remember).

I lost the little respect I had for them (SA Liberal) after that, to try sit in judgement and blame another party for policies they brought in is a total disgrace (that would be like if labor won the election and next minute John Howard claiming the GST is too high) as well as the privatisation of the electricity which means we are all paying twice as much than what we used to pay all adds to me not considering voting liberal until all of those morons that made those decisions are gone.

What would you like her to do in your electorate macca, relocate Footy Park there? Most politicians have little say in what goes on in terms of anything sustantial. I mean the local member had nothing to do with the Submarine Project being built in his electorate.
Its helping the locals in getting justice, jobs, etc. that most dont see that gets results.

When I lived there and Donny D was premier he helped me on a personal basis (being the local member). No one else knew that. Thats what they are there for not pushing any particular barrow. Sure they should get out and meet the locals more often, but then so should the locals go and see them instead of just whining (not saying you are).

Ah! Politics and footy.

I'm just wondering what possible qualifications not-so-Smart has for politics, apart from throwing a few haymakers at Scott Cummings? He knows nothing about the electorate and has just returned from overseas. His own party left him high and dry for his big "launch".

I've always thought of him as a wa**er, not only because of his footy team. He shoots his mouth off without putting his brain into gear too often. I'm sure the ALP will find plenty of things to derail his campaign.

BTW I don't live in the Norwood electorate so can't comment too much on Vini, apart from her reputation for butt pinching! I just wondered why your Nige didn't pick an electorate he's actually a part of.....

sounds familiar - maybe if the tilt at Norwood is unsuccessful he might be in the running for Power senior coach

Vini is a disgrace. End of story.

I don't want her to do anything in my electorate - thank god she's not in mine.

But her reputation in the game is that she is one of the most inactive non achievers, if not the worst.

I think that the Liberal party have been quite clever with this in targeting a marginal seat that is held by an inept candidate - it gives Smart an excellent job of getting a seat, and obviously helps their cause.

By the way, this is not a political statement. It's an observation. :)

Just a coincidence that yesterday the tiser ran an article writing by Dean Jench or similar who is a professor of politics at Flinders.
He wrote that the stories about her are not accurate and that certain skuttle butt are put out by others with a not so hidden agenda.

Not surpising that, though. Dean Jensch writes with an unashamedly Labour bias.

I still think Smarty will topple her, whether her reputation is earned or unearned, because of his public profile and the fact that he comes across as a person who is determined to make things happen.
