Andy Otten has today taken another big step, literally, in his rehabilitation from a knee reconstruction.

Otten, who injured his knee in December, ran outside today for the first time since his surgery.

I wonder how Brodie is travelling. The last I heard was that he was doing even better in his recovery than what Burton was and even he was ahead of his program. I'd love to see him back earlier than expected.

For someone his age I'm content for him to take his time. Looks like he's ahead of schedule as it is which is fantastic, but I don't want them to rush it - if he's held back a week or two but saves him knee trouble over the next 10-15 years he may play for us so be it.

Yeah let Brodie and Andy fully recover and have a huge pre-season ready for next year. If both can force their way into our team next year (at this rate it won't be hard) that would be fantastic. If Otten keeps most of his agility and pace he will be a really handy addition to our midfield brigade.

Don't want us to rush them but a few players have been getting back much earlier then the 12 month time normally given like Hille and Waite. Hopefully we also have some fast healers so they can be all ready come 2011 (not that I really want to think that far ahead at this stage).

We probably have to be prepared for some setback at some stage - knee injuries almost always seem to have them - but it's brilliant news that he's back running. If he is going to move to the midfield next season, he'll need a solid fitness base back, which he can begin developing even now
