Found this gem in an Addy article (http://www.geelongadvertiser.com.au/article/2011/02/26/245771_gfc.html):

Ottens said fellow ruckmen Mark Blake and Dawson Simpson had been working on being able to play a role forward, as they also look to add more strings to their bow.

So exactly what "role" would Blake be playing forward? Third goal post? To play as a forward isn't it kind of handy to take a contested mark or earn the ball in a contest? Neither we've seen Blakey do much of!!

It's just the club giving Blake a chance to improve as a forward so he has some chance of getting a game. Said improvement won't come though.
