Kirk would seem to be the favourite.

Do we think that Adam Goodes will get almost as many votes as Kirk and O'Keefe combined (as he did in the Brownlow)?

I think Kirk will win it by some margin, with ROK and Macca fighting out the minor places. ROK's season has probably been slightly better overall but the gap between expectations and achievements favours Macca (ie we - and the coaches - all knew ROK could play that well but Macca's performances were less predicted). That may influence how many votes they get.

Will be interesting to see who they award "Most Improved" to. By any measure, Macca was our most improved but he won that accolade back in 2006 (before regressing in 2007). Will they give it to him again? Or will it go to Bevo?

I'd expect Bevan to get Most Improved, or possibly Moore. Bevan was already in the team consistently, Moore wasn't.

I'm excited too, but don't know how I'll follow the results other than the one announcement we get on sydneyswans.com. Last year I had no idea when it was going to be and then all of a sudden Kirk had it won.

I must say I'm not too familiar with the whole thing, what awards are given out?

I think it's best and fairest player, best first year player, most improved, and best clubman. Not sure if there is anything for highest goal kicker?

Agreed, Liz. I'd have thought Kirk clearly, with McVeigh, ROK and Goodes probably fighting out placings behind him. Mattner and maybe Jolly, Jude, Bevan, Richards and Moore also should pick up minor votes, but I'm not sure the exact system.

Agree, except i think Mcveigh will shade kirk based on expectation vs reward. I also think Jolly will place very highly.

Thank you for all of that Grimlock- makes good reading. Kirk's outstanding record is reinforced - close seconds and substantial wins during an historic period - plus perhaps another big win this year. The players player award would be the best as voted by the list - be interested to know how that system works.
