CARLTON
Here is a comparison between Carlton's first quarters and the overall results. I think you will find a pretty common pattern.

rd 1 vs freo at subie - qtr time down by 2 goals, lost by 47.

rd 2 vs geelong at optus - qtr time down by 6, won by 54.

rd 3 vs kangaroos at mcg - qtr time down by 14, lost by 1.

rd 4 vs essendon at mcg - qtr time up by 12, lost by 37.

rd 5 vs west coast at optus - qtr time up by 12, won by 49.

rd 6 vs melbourne at mcg - qtr time down by 30, lost by 105.

rd 7 vs collingwood at mcg - qtr time down by 10, won by 9.

rd 8 vs bribane at gabba - qtr time down by 25, lost by 38.

rd 9 vs dogs at optus - qtr time down by 14, lost by 25.

rd 10 vs saints at dome - qtr time down by 27, lost by 108.

rd 11 vs crows at aami - qtr time down by 29, won by 4.

It seems that after quarter time we have been able to hold firm with most sides, in some cases pulling off big come from behind wins (notably against the crows and pies), sometimes come back but only to fall short (ie against the roos) and only a couple of times where we have been blown away (ie games against demons and saints).

Even the game against geelong, which we comfortably won in the end, we did give them a 3 goal to nothing head start.

My question is, is this a problem that we can overcome?? Why have we been starting games off so poorley?? Is it confidence, or something else??

I would love to hear your thoughts!!

Cheers.

Gits.

In response to the original point, I'd have to put it down to our boys walking into every game with damage control switched on and the opposition not wanting to be victim to 'pathetic' Carlton.

They almost play as hard as they would against Brisbane or the Saints just so they don't get the finger pointed at them by the general public.

Apparently your club is in disrepair if you lose to us
