Ok slightly off topic, but since I50s were mentioned earlier with respect to the fact that we keep getting smashed in them (well, losing the differential at least), my observation from the WC game is that yes, they got it in there a lot relatively speaking, but most entries were hurried bombs with no specific target. That's down to appropriate pressure from our mids. Most defences, especially ours at the moment, should be able to deal with high bombs into the F50. I'd be more concerned if we were losing the I50 count and the opposition was mostly coming in via lace-out passes to their forwards. But mostly, they're not.

Don't play Majak at all imho.....he's struggling.....doesn't deserve games based on his numbers.....Carey is right unfortunately.

He's being played out of position. He needs the goal square to himself, and Petrie to assume the high role. They should also both split the ruck so one of them isn't completely ****ed after playing backup ruck for the day. There's no reason Petrie can't play ruck for 15 minutes a game.

Petrie isn't kicking goals. Simple. He plays well up the ground when he's in this sort of slump.
Majak isn't playing well up the ground, he plays well from the goal square.

Pretty simple fix that's been pissing me off for a few weeks.

It's no coincidence that Majak's best game at AFL level has also coincided with one of the few times he has been utilised in the same way he is at Werribee.

Our inability to take a mark or create space was pathetic.
I'm a big believer in getting games into Majak but as a result we are putting our offensive strength at a disadvantage. He and Petrie are too alike and we can't play both in the same fifty.

The inability to take a mark is killing us and instead of causing a stoppage the ball is coming back at us at a rate of knots.

Brad will have some hard decisions to make.
Feel for Maj watching on as the 50 opened up and we banged on 8. What we have to tell Daw is that he is the future and that Drew is for now not forever. Winning games is and will always be our number 1 priority at North Melbourne.

So given that Scott has said that is possibly our best qtr of footy under his coaching, surely we structure up similar from now on. Daw probably goes back to VFL. The only problem I have is Wright being in the team. Is Wood a viable option. By all accounts is pretty mobile. Petrie to play from the square. Where does that leave Tarrant? He still needs more time in the VFL so they say.

I think sadly for Maj, we don't have the luxury of playing him in the seniors at this point in time, he is not providing enough impact atm. He should go to the VFL and play 90% of the time as a forward, not 90% of the time as a ruckman.

Changes I would go with, until Tarrant is ready to resume:

Out: Daw, Adams
In: Thomas, Wood

FF: Nahas Petrie Thomas
HF: Black Ziebell Wood

For periods Petrie has to ruck while Goldy rests we can push Black to FF and create some space in front of him and just tell him to get on his bike and lead.

If Wood doesn't work out then we eventually go to a HF line of Black/Tarrant/Ziebell

Adams is just not giving us anything atm and Daw is no good at half forward. Wood at least is going to get on his bike and provide a marking option through the middle. He is not physically ready imo, but **** it, if he is not ready to go then promote another midfielder who can possible give us something up the field.
