Our forward line

Half Forward - Waite Kennedy Houlihan
Full Foward - Betts Fevola Fisher

Will 3 tall marking options in Kennedy, Waite and Fevola and Fisher being a floating marking option, Betts and Houlihan being great around the foot of packs. I believe that our forward line can cause alot of teams alot of headaches.

Thoughts?

Exactly the foward 6 i posted a month ago on our "best 22" thread.

Only diff was i had Waite names as CHF to take a little pressure of Kennedy (they in theory would play dual CHF's tho) with either Houlihan (as you said) or Lapping on the flank. Fisher can play as a third hff/leading foward adding some variety to the game with betts all over the crumbs of Fevola.

Whitnall can be used down here when required.

It's potentially the best in the league. - Particularly when a lot of those players can also play midfield. eg, Waite, Fisher, Houlihan, and Betts. Plus there's plenty of heights, agression, and speed to go with it.

Let's just hope they continue to develop as planned. :cool:

Did you forget Lance? :D

Kennedy is a gun from what I saw last night on ABC2 and he will be well worth the wait whilst others show they're future superstars. :rolleyes:

No I see Lance playing centre half back for the rest of his career, at Carlton anyway.
Plus with Fev, Josh, Waite, and Lance the forward line would be to top heavy.

We need to be really careful that we don't rush Josh in ahead of where he should be. I'd like to see him get at least half a dozen games under his belt at VFL level before he plays AFL.

Seems like most are leaving O'hAilpin out these days.

It's perhaps shameful to admit, but I never really boarded the Setanta bandwagon. I've been skeptical towards him from the start.

I'd rather talk up our other forwards for now.

I'd like to give him one to two months in the twos but what I saw on the weekend he isn't far away from debuting and being called a superstar. :cool:

Setanta needs three years to develop into a player of AFL standard. Let him see that out before we judge him. Wasnt ready true, but give him the alloted time.

Kennedy can come in, he is ready for a taste (perhaps not permanent unless he plays a blinder) but worth giving him something to aim for.

And our forward line would be awesome with Betts and Davies roaming around, bloody brilliant.

I am getting real tired of this Russell & Kennedy talk.

Reminds me of all the talk about Setanta. Everyone writes on here about how he is going to be a champion if only he gets a chance in the 1sts and then when he does and plays a shocker, everyone writes him off as a dud.

Kennedy has had an injury interrupted pre season and has played a few games in the Bullants. Has shown a bit but has not dominated in enough games to warrant a game in the seniors. Also is lacking in fitness. Why the hurry for him to get a game? He is only 18. Let him develop in the maggoos and really dominate before giving him a game.

Russell from all accounts has not been that great this year for the Ants and yet everyone on this board still demands he get a game. If he is not dominating for the 'Ants, why do people think he will suddenly take off once he pulls on the navy blue. Reward him for effort, not for being picked high in the draft and running good beep tests.

Lets face it, we are not playing for finals this year. We have to keep our eyes on the bigger picture which is 2-3 years away and I see no upside with playing our younger players before they are ready, either physically or experience wise, for the big time.

Hartlett = Full Back.
Edwards = Backup Full Forward to Fev.
Raso = Half Back/Half Forward.

Not sure about this yet. Looks ok down there but is a natural forward. Great mark and excellent kick. Would be handy if he can play back there though. I see Edwards as a possible FB, can play FF also.

I agree setanta does need a few more years to develop, alot of people are judging him but alot of players go through that stage where they have to get useto playing afl, if we can sneak big Sentanta in a few games here and there, then it will increase his experience in afl. it was actually worth a shot of playing setanta against the hawks, with fev out why not give the young lad a shot. hope he continues to imporve:thumbsu:
