Are we going to turn into the Western Bulldogs rejects club? First we get Joel Bowden's equally soft and useless brother Patrick, and now we are keen on Jordan McMahon. On top of that we got the showboat Nathan Brown who's more interested in t-shirts and the celebrity pages.

McMahon is the softest outside player around. I don't want him, he's a dud.

Kent Kingsley was a dud.

We don't have a bloody ruckman or key defenders ffs and all we pick up is soft outside players built like sticks.

Now there's talk we may go for Morton instead of Cotchin pick 2. That is a joke Cotchin is going to be a star and we'll be left with egg on our face just like the Tambling fiasco.

The way Wallace & Miller recruit players really sh1ts me and means we are going nowhere for a long time.

They said on channel 10 News Adelaide that Jordan McMahon has opted for the tiges rather than go to the power in late breaking news. Any updates?

I just hope we don't get him...he's a hack and we already got plenty of his type.

Misquito fleet...

It seems we were just about linked to every non-key position player up for trade, yet no key position players.

If say Thursty, Patto, Simmonds, Polak and Richo have injury problems next year, where stuffed...

You are kidding aren't you mate. Slagging off two our most senior and most important players other than richo. Brown who should be the next captain of richmond and goes back into the fire after snapping his leg in half. And joel who consistantly plays one on one undersized against powerhouse forwards and never backed down. He is one of the most courageous players we heve. Wake up mate!!!

Jordon McMahon is sort of a handy player but only in a pure forward of the ball soft unaccountable style that worked with the Dogs from late 2005 until early 2007. Once though the harder nuts of the side like Cross, West and the 'mouth of the South' Griffen started getting injured though, the Eagletons, Rays, McMahons, Giansiracusas and the like were like ships without a rudder. McMahon might be good of you get a fit Tuck, Foley, Coughlan etc feeding the ball out to him, but he will not be the sort of player to get you out of a tough situation. He's a required player at Geelong, but Prismall would have been a better get.

Ummm. Exactly? That is why he is being targeted. Someone who can run, kick and hit targets. Pat Bowden had a career year with us and he has never won a hardball in his life.

Prismall is contracted. McMahon isn't.

Well said Terry Tan - calling it like it is

Miller is a shambles, and made a fool of himself with the recent speculation re Judd.

Richmond should get rid of him

If he tries to get Judd he is a shambles. If he doesn't try to get Judd he is a shambles.

He did all that could be expected, got in and tried to see if there was anything in it for us.

I don't think it is our recruiting that is holding us back (when I say recruiting I am also including drafting). I think it has a lot to do with our inabilty to develop the players once we aquire them.

For example, many people seems to think Tambling is a poor player ( I think he has been OK but unfortunatly Franklin is making him look bad). But don't forget that most of the recruiting experts in the country rated him the second best player in the 2004 draft. All those people can't be wrong. I think if Tambling was picked up by another club he would be developing as expected.

The performance of Rodan is further evidence that Richmond struggles to develop players. When he was with us he was struggling and got delisted, but when Port picked him up he is playing ten times better then he ever has.

It said much about Richmond that Judd refused to deal with us, but chose a club just as worse in Carlton. Wallace, Miller, and Richmond have no respect on and off the field.

And they won't till they start winning games. Wallace, Miller and every single player should be on notice.

Game, set and match.

Miller and the tanned one are setting the Tigers backward.
Tigers are now in a worse place than the dark days of the late 80's

I wonder if Schulz will turn out to be a good player when he is traded. That will be the acid test. If he does, our development at RFC is truly the problem.

With Judd on board the Blues are definate favourites for the Cup...the nab Cup! :)

Miller hasn't done anything wrong yet. Just needs to secure something decent in the PSD. You have the first pick. It is up to him to convince someone to come. That is his real test. Pretty hard to get Judd when he didn't even nominate you for interview.

This is, IMHO, 100% correct.

I dont know what it is, but the player development "department" or process or whatever you want to call it is not functioning properly whatsoever!

Just look at the recent years - Rodan, Ottens and to a certain extent Fiora - all these players have played considerably better when they were shipped off to other teams. I dont think it is a coincidence after it happening a few times. It is for this reason I was/still am more than willing to make a deal for Meyer, bc I think he can blossom at another club.

I dont know what exactly is wrong down at Tigerland atm, but all this "its the cultures fault" talk is just crap - as I told one of my Richmond mates - I think for the Tigers to go forward, you need to get rid of 2 ppl, Miller & Wallace. Get an untried rookie coach, and a new recruting department, and you will be on your way up the ladder...for some reason, Richmond are ALWAYS trying to be active in the trade period! Why dont you just keep the draft picks and develop your own players? And pick good players from now on! I know its easier said than done, but you had FIVE picks in the top 20 in the 2004 draft. One-third of your starting line-up could have been picked then....and IMO, the JON pick up was a huge blunder - you were desperate for some talls, and MITCH CLARK & MARCUS DRUM were the next 2 picks after JON! That amazed me....but anyways, like i mentioned, i think a new untried coach like what Essendon is doing now, and a complete revamp of your recruting department can work wonders for you guys!

P.S. This was the perfect time to get your ruckman for the next 10 yrs - Cam Wood. Pick 18 + a player would have gotten him. Simmo is nearing the twilight of his career, and Patto doesnt seem to cut it as a full-time ruckman. Having Wood as your number 1 ruckman would have in itself made you a better team. It seems that you will give up pick.18 for Mitch Morton, but Wood would have filled a more pressing need IMO.
