Eh, this game started off well but is sort of annoying me now with its generic objectives. Pretty sick of having to collect items to repair something along with the obvious placing of enemies who roam around right in front of where you need to go. Maybe I'm being a bit harsh, I'm just disappointed that its become more of a generic horror experience with some annoying elements.

Havnt even got to the place where the lights go out yet. I only know it happens cause my brother finished the first bit in like 25 mins whilst I hid around the corner and watched from afar.

Damn. You really find it that scary?

The scare factor really dies down towards the second half of the game.

Im thinking about doing another playthrough on normal skill level just to see if I can get the medal for getting all the games documents. If you play on a harder skill level the only thing that changes is 1) you can takes less hits from enemies and 2) you have less batteries .

I doubt anything will top the tension of the first time playthrough when you go into the unknown .

Just don't like jump scares. I know when they are coming yet they still make me jump just from the noise. Have always been like that dunno why.

Each time you move forward in the game you have to ask yourself..

- where are the enemies and what are their movements?
-where are the safespots and hiding places that I can run to?
-how do I move into the next section? do I need a key? do I need to find an air vent? do I have to make a jump or climb?

thats all you have to do.
then you can start to take in the games atmosphere and graphics.

I did this but on a harder difficulty to make it a bit of a challenge while doing it, it lacked the tension, but you do forget a few of the jump scares so theres that atleast.

trying to do insane now but the female ward is pretty frustrating

The female ward is mostly dark so you really struggle on limited batteries. Its dark and there are a load of jumps and pitfalls to navigate.

On my latest Outlast playthrough I have been able to catch some of the dialogue that I missed. The lines from those deranged brothers are chilling.

I was doing a "get all documents and notes" playthrough ,but it turns out I missed a note. Waste of time continuing.
yeah I remember screwing up an early note and having to restart, was very easy to get lost in the moment and continue past an area you had record.

finished insane yesterday, was pretty easy once I worked out a strategy for the female ward, although the nerves did pick up towards the final tricky parts.
The last chase scene with Walker I accidentally shut the door before I entered that room, I must have just avoided getting caught there, then it was just that final jump in the underground area that was going to be mildly tricky.

I think the hardest part for me anyway, was the pitch black area with the pool of water and Walker just at the start of the male ward chapter.

Was playing this with Samster42 at my house last week and he got to a point where he was about to be cornered by a monster, threw the controller on the ground and said "**** this." Unlucky for him he accidentally pressed the share button so I let him watch his moment of terror all over again :).

Finally got through this game, enjoyed it but just felt like it was too much of 'go here, do that, then go here', if that makes sense, brought me out of the game a bit when there were things like 'collect three fuses'.

What was the go with the ending? I figured the Military guys would shoot me anyway since i knew too much, but they say "he has become the host", just don't get it!

Oh well back to BF4 until Brothers next month :)

I know what I missed and im kicking myself because I went into the room and just didnt record correctly. The line on the wall that says something like "Tongue first ,then balls " . Which gave a clue to the torture that takes place in the male ward. I was stressed because I knew that chase part was about to happen.

Yeah ,the sewer section is very tough on limited batteries. Avoiding Walker is tricky . You basically have to go around the perimeter of the wall and sneak around to slip past him so you can make that jump .

I'll probably wait until the DLC "whisteblower" comes out to play this game again. The company are working on it now but no release date is set.

I think it took another playthrough to see just how sickening the little details in the game are. I felt rushed in the first attempt and didnt take alot of stuff in.
