Unfortunately guys like Thornton are considered runners for us because our midfield is always thrashed and we're constantly having to launch attacks from the half back line.

Unfortunately guys like Thornton can't be relied on and it doesn't solve our problem with the midfield - we just end up with an extra tall and less midfield possibilities. Losing Mi Johnson for Warnock also cost us run from the back half and someone who could have gone onto Polak etc.

Almost half the side should be capable of switching through the middle of the ground to make sure we have fresh legs...

while this is a factor, i reckon that fremantle were just blatantly outplayed in all facets of the game. on paper, freo should still have won that game by at least 4 goals.

although the richmond players did play out of their skin.

I felt sorry for you guys yesterday, the fans that is because Richmond has been dishing that rubbish up for far too long, Im not sure how you fix things up but for the fans sake I hope the players actually do something about it next week!

werent out coached at all our players just didnt give a stuff an went out there expecting to win.

Not manning up,not chasing, applying no pressure has nothing to do with coaching its all do to with players heart/effort.

I seriously doubt harvey said ok dont bother manning up just go out there an play your own game let them do whatever they want.

As I said in another thread, this was the worst performance by a Freo team I can remember seeing live. Just take a look at some of the statistics on Footywire:

Richmond - TWELVE players with 19 touches or more (Kane Johnson with 36)
FREO - 1 player with over 19 touches (Belly) !

Disposals: 426 - 275

Marks - 156 - 84

Footywire doesn't have clearance statistics, but I would except them to be running 3:1 in their favour.

I did state outselected not outcoached. We went in to big, thats what Wallet reckoned and I tend to agree. Could've played Brock instead of anybody really. Hindsight, its a wonderful thing.
