Probably the most concise indicator of a team's potency, though it doesn't take into account how you have stashed on your injury bench (eg Cornes). Moreover, a huge team value isn't necessarily crucial as it doesn't matter in the end whether you have Ballantyne @ 86k or M. Brown @ 205k if you don't need the coverage. Having said all that, it's probably the easiest metric for a team's success. I think if your team value is 8m + $100,000 for each trade used, you're in pretty good nick.

Also, does anyone know if team value includes money sitting in your kitty, or is that not counted?

I've got enough rookies appreciating, but don't have enough trades to take advantage of it!

I made some bad unique picks (Jay Nash :thumbsd:), and also did some panic trading early to cover for injuries, as well as using two trades to get Richo the week before he did his hammy against North. In a way I regret it, because I've got little room to work with now, but I would have been way out of it long ago (I am anyway, but still) if I hadn't done anything. Still, lessons have been learned, and I'll know how to better manage things for next year. I've been playing every year since 2004, but this is my first year I've been playing seriously (as in, the first year I've picked a team after doing some research), so I'm still learning new things as I go.

You'll find that there can be distinct correlations between team value and overall rankings. My team's value and current ranking are both <rap...

But seriously, in the past I have noticed patterns.

Team value does not include money in the bank.

Thanks for that. I always wondered this and was always too lazy to add it up myself :P

This explains why my team value tends to jump, e.g.

8,500,000

8,500,500 (right after a 125k downgrade, so it really should be around 8,625,500)

8,750,000 (right after a cash in upgrade hence the sudden jump)

8,765,000

8,920,000

etc.

8.85-9 MIL but have got over $150k in the bank.

only 8,954,300 (ranked 538th) 11 trades left is that why it's so low?

and on another subject
can anyone explain why THECHOPDOGS - ranked 2nd this week has been listed as being 5850th last round and is now 7142nd?

Those players havent gone up in price mate. 50k maximum. The way your team value gets high is if you have good rookies who each go up 200k. Who have your rookies been? Teams with otten, rich, suban, rance, hill, ziebell, walker would of gone up well over a million in value just from those players.

You dont get a high team value from having expensive players, you get it through having good rookies.
