im going to wait until next season, until i comment on how his progress is going, just give him time, before starting on his future.
He has a lot of filling and maturing out to do, but the signs are there for the world to see.

He has a very very long way to go.
He may be a good player in time but it won't be for at least 3 years imo but one problem i have with him now is he seems timid.
But certainly not prepared to write him off at this stage and does seem to have a lot of talent.

Hes a very shy, introverted person in life and unfortunately he takes that onto the footy field. Maybe during the preseason the boys should take him on a few pub crawls, crack him out of his shell and hopefully that'll change his onfield game :p

dont expect much from a ruckman until there about 24

takes a very long time for them to come of age having watched Gardiner/Cox/Seaby develop over the last 7-8 years

I would actually prefer it if they didnt play paddy for a couple of years and let him develop in the VFL rather than throwing him in the deap end.

I'm thinking along these lines too. Problem is that Laycock is injured and Cartledge has failed to do anything so probably more value in giving Paddy a game than him.

Apparently he dominated in the VFL last week so i'd keep him there where imo he'll develop quicker at this stage. We're better off with Hille rucking 80%+ of the time so Bradley could be used to give him a rest.

Hook him up with Buddy. He'll show him a good time.

I think you might be spot on, he needs to act a little angrier ont he field, trust his capabilities and not worry about consequences.

If it was me I'd be playing him quite often, he has the skills tobe very good at a young age

Paddy is 18, hes got the potentioal to be anything he wants, plus Sheedy know what the kid can do and iam sure he will give Paddy some off season assignment likes working on his fitness, working on his upper body etc etc. The kid will became special, its written all over him. Also Hille didnt take 7 years to play at the top level, it took him 2 years at memory. Even though he has slow Sheeds trusted him with the 2nd job at the ruck work. :thumbsu:

he will be a very good player, just looking at him in the VFL you can see why. He's agile, even gets his own ball from the packs.

I think he is finding the transition hard into AFL football. but give him a few years with pleanty of game time and we'll see a very special player i think.
