PAFC make AFL history hosting a game of ping pong in China, so why are the Crer customers so upset?

Opposed from the Kiwis or the Americans doing the same thing in investing in Australia and buying out our companies. So what's the difference if it's China?
Did I ever say there was a difference? that's not what i was trying to say or argue with you. I was trying to say hey have a close look at how your club is being used and make sure your comfortable with it cos I do t think many of you would be.
Btw, I think you would much prefer America or NZ to own large land titlments and companies in Aus. Just ask the people of Panama what it's like having China own a large amount of your country.

Selective quoting there Beatsoff ....
"If the proposed match goes ahead "
Not quite the certainty it was yesterday ...

So there's no time date or location yet ?
Your're really struggling here on embarrassing levels. You fail to realise that it's been backed by the AFL and a billionaire tycoon for a proposed AFL home and away game to be played in Shanghai. So what put of that don't you understand:drunk:

It's hilarious watching them swing and miss so much.

We're being used to promote the game of AFL in China and help incorporate business and diplomatic tires with our club and the country of China. If Mr Gui Guo Jie wants to give us multi-millions of dollars to do so I'm all for it as you would be if it were the Crows. Why would it matter if he or any other National that want's to invest in Aus or state? SA needs all the help it can get atm....

probably the wrong board to put my original post on.
Mate it's not about you guys making millions of dollars you need to look past that. I want you guys to do well footy is awesome when you guys are up and about and if you make that money great it's gonna make sure no more tarps etc. that's not the point. Selling off Australian business is the point. Yep money for Aus in the short term. Short term. It dries out very quickly and you have lost a major Australian industry.
Have a look at what happened in regards to the selling of the Panama Canal and in turn the selling of all related business. Shit went down hill quickly.
Different situation here as its only one part of the industry, however it sets a precedent that the PM is obviously backing.
Look past the money and look to the future. That goes for Chinese companies, usa, NZ etc etc.
BTW if the deal is rejected like last time you will be dropped without a thought and the mess will be massive for you guys to clean up.

Correct, wrong board, negative-nancy.

Minor point re the thread title, CHN is the airport code for Jeon Ju in South Korea. Has Kochhead gone and stuffed up his asian nations?

In China the more nuanced concept of “guanxi” comes into play.

It is a concept that which does not translate exactly, but it describes the interplay of mutual obligation, trust and reciprocity which builds up over time between associates, business partners and even family members.

But hey , he loves AFL !!!!!

When and where is this game being played ?
It's the most basic question that not one of you have answered :D

Is anyone able to shed light on the SMA contract? Is there absolutely no way that Port is able to forfeit one of their eleven home games?
Both Port and the Crows have signed a contract that they must play 11 home games at Adelaide Oval each year. There is no way possible that this contract be broken.

So assuming this has been in the pipeline for sometime, was there no opportunity to enter into negotiations in regards to giving up 1 home game? Did Port even attempt to?

Nope. When the move to Adelaide Oval took place one of the conditions that the government (which the SMA is now in charge of) issued is that there must be 22 games there each year to justify their financial commitment in redeveloping Adelaide Oval.

With negotiation and an exchange of a large amount of cash I'm sure relief would be given. However given attendances at most GWS games suck they'll be a prime target to take over there.

I find it hard to believe that the agreement is so set in stone that there is no possbility to enter into negotiation or some sort of a compromise to keep both parties happy. What about unforeseen circumstances? But I'll take your word for it as I am not that familiar with it. Though if it requires 22 games at Adelaide oval, does that mean you could have had talks with us? That would still equate to 22? ;)

Have you guys (port supporter) actually looked into how your club is being used? Do you actually know who Gui Gougie is and why he is involving your club? You seriously need to do some research behind this matter and get onto your club about why they are allowing themselves to be apart of the "carve up" of Australia. Your club is being used as a pawn and if it doesn't work you will be dumped with a hell of a lot of rubbish to clean up. No I'm not melting, I just actually believe that if you had a good hard look at this situation you wouldn't be happy about it.
According to Koch last night he watched one game and had lunch and decided to dump in a load of cash, does sound pretty suspicious, of course all Koch and the AFL see are dollar signs, I wonder if anyone has done any due diligence

The following should be ringing alarm bells at Power but they're all to busy patting themselves on the back.

CHINESE billionaire Gui Goujie’s multimillion-dollar sponsorship of Port Adelaide Football Club is about much more than his new-found love of AFL.

The original playsheet told of the Shanghai property developer’s keen desire to bring footy to China. The club’s biggest-ever benefactor did not ask for so much as a logo on the guernsey in return.

But it soon emerged that Mr Gui’s largesse was inextricably linked to his bid to buy the nation’s biggest pastoral empire, South Australian-based S. Kidman and Co, which is set to be sold for a rumoured $350 million.

Did the Chinese just look for the puffiest club in the league to sell this scam to?
