Pretty hard to say right now, in 2-3 it should be easier to tell

I really doubt it though

what a player, wouldnt be surprised if he gets some close attention in the next few weeks, will be interesting to see how he handles it

The kid is the best mid we've got, by a long way. The problem is that he's a rookie and playing on the ball all the time means there will be times when he'll miss games.

I reckon he'll still play 16-18 this year though and could average 60+ without too much concern, but tactically, he's a cash cow and not a gun.

Not to mention he'll probably cop a tag, which isnt what you'd want when you're playing in your first season

Could be the Joel Selwood of 2008 - pity that he doesn't have the support around him that Joel had.
was thinking the exact same thing.

If the DT'ers who have him get their timing right, they might be able to straight swap Palmer with a gun mid.

he will average at least 70, even if he does start getting tagged

No.
I'll downgrade him to Bartel soon.
you mean upgrade.
Palmer had a great game, but certainly not a keeper yet. he'd have to string together some top scores before claiming a spot in anyone's team longterm. definitely not a joel selwood.

You ruined the joke.

He'll be a very very good cash cow at best, IMO.

nope, don't have much of a sense of humour. also hate sarcasm too. i'm also a she, if that helps.

Well there's ya problem...

If I was Palmer, played 4 games, going into my 5th and Geelong feel in necassary to put Ling on me I'd be feeling pretty good about my self.

Pick number 7 i tell yah thats better than pick 1. Wish the dons picked him up my second fav side. Palmer is he better than J.Selwood ?? he is avg more posses than him and will surely only get more TOG as the year goes on hes a ball magnet. He is definatly not a keeper but will make alot of money as he is upto 212k with a big -40 as his BE for round 6. Plus this 107 will count for not only next week (round 6) but also round 7
