The beginning was kinda slow but it caught up towards the end. Man Micah was pretty funny.

And when the paranormal guy said "Oh I gotta go!" right when he came in the house.

But heck the last 10 minutes just scared the crap outta me! I don't know how I survived... Oh man!!

This looks a little like this very good Japanese movie called Noroi which can be found on YouTube, some of the scenes from this have been copied more or less directly from Noroi but hopefully it's still worthwhile to watch.

Gee this film looks awesome. A must see.

I have been Googling the hell out it since seeing this thread!! Lol

You may not believe in ghosts, but this movie will make you scared as **** at the possibility they are around us. Kt and I were gripping each other’s hands to the point of pain during every night encounter, and that’s no joke. Paranormal Activity is not for the weak hearted and is one of the few films that stays with you after you’ve left the theater to the point that you wished it wouldn’t.Paranormal Activity is our generation’s The Exorcist, and that is not a comparison I make lightly.

Well Torrents are everywhere of this movie at the moment and i just watched it and i must say i was truly scared while viewing it with the sound up and lights down

The misses even asked if we could put the light on about halfway through as she was sh!tting herself!!!

Very good film and makes you think "What if" .......

The film lives up to its excellent trailer and truly installs fear into the people watching it with an open mind. If anyone likes to be scared and believes in the paranormal and ghosts this is a must see and it is very well done. It really gets going after the first 30 mins and draws you in making you feel like you are there with the characters experiencing the same frightening events.

This movie proves you dont need an overload of blood and gore to make a truly disturbing movie. :thumbsu:

8/10 and i recommend it to all.

Apparently the torrent's ending is different to that of the theatrical one (And the one that Steven Spielberg 'Recommended').

Really not sure what to do now. Do I download the torrent and get a different and possibly worse ending, or do I wait until it's out in Cinema's watch it new there and get the different and possibly better or worse ending?!

I hate when this happens. The Butterfly Effect was one with 2 completely different and movie altering endings, thankfully I didn't see the one considered to be the worst and got the one that I felt worked best too. But with a movie that is potentially as powerful as this one having 2 endings that again from looking around seem to have people divided as to what is best is so ****en annoying.

EDIT: Hmmmm, now I've just found an almost 200MB torrent that gives the Theatrical Version Ending....

Ive read spoilers for both endings.

Not really that different, if anything, check them both out.

Its not the plot that makes this movie such a standout, its the techniques it uses, apparently.

Will have it by the weekend, will be watching it on the big screen, in the dark, at 3am, full bore surround sound, on LSD, and ALONE.

Will also not be sleeping for quite possibly a week, if reviews are to be believed.

I know what you mean and all. But it would shit me if I watched the poorer ending over the better one and had to watch the better one on the side and not while in the movie moment as it were.

Just FWIW what ending do you rate better going by what you've read?

Honestly dont know.

Read them a week ago, from memory it was only the last 15 seconds or so that was different.

Id re-read them now.

But its dark and im by myself

Ok I was way off, apparantly there is 10 minutes less footage in the new version over the whole film. Also, some scenes are jumbled into a different order, apparantly to greater effect in the newer version. Also the sound is better in the newer version, which creates more tension.

Also, the ending in the new version is more abrupt and would probably be more shocking (and Hollywood-like). The original one (screener version) drags on a bit more, but could be more haunting if done well.

Id go for the new cinema one TBH.

Spoilers are here for those that are interested...

There are also a couple of other endings that were tested that may be released on the DVD version.

This is beginning to sound like a MUST OWN, expecially for horror fans.

Could someone link a legit torrent of it?? I've downloaded a couple but they were just 3 minute clips saying you had to register with some site to view the video

The wide angle bedroom shot, with the dark hallway on one side and the bed on the other, and the lack of Hollywood factor are what make it frightening. It doesn't present whatever the entity is like you traditionally get in films - it presents it the way you hear such events described in supposed real life accounts - the documentaries on Discovery and such. Even if you're a skeptic, this film will make you consider the possibilities, you'll be thinking about it during the drive home and when you retire to bed that night.

I haven't seen the theatrical version yet, just the one given away on DVD back when it was shown in 2007, and the ending was chilling. It doesn't finish with a cheap shock value scare, it finishes with disturb factor. At one point you feel like it's not going to escalate any further and then it does. Vealesy said the order of events has changed in the current theatrical release? I don't like the sound of that. Hope they've kept the gradual escalation effect intact. The theatrical ending doesn't sound all that appropriate to me either - the way it ends originally leaves the whole thing feeling like a home video while I get the feeling this newer one might kill that ambiguity. Hopefully not the case - will definitely see it in theatres when it opens here, great uses of the medium like this deserve everyone's support.

Excellent summary and i could not agree more. :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Watched this movie last night (the current theatre ending, then watched the original one). I don't know what will be considered a spoiler or not, so I'll just put everything in white text. Highlight if you want to read:

The movie is done very well. You know it's fake, yet your belief is still suspended and you get taken on the ride. That's what makes it frightening. I must admit, I didn't jump once, but I did get goosebumps or my blood would run cold at certain parts. As already mentioned, the positioning of the camera in the bedroom adds to the terror. Because you never actually get to see the 'entity' but you know something is going to happen, but you're not too sure if it's going to be the door, the floor, the bed, the hallway, or a room in the hallway, so when whatever happens happens, it is more unexpected and that bit more frightening.

I had an issue with the 'manhole' scene, I thought it wasn't needed, and I couldn't enjoy it and 'stay on the ride' of the movie. However, after that scene I am able to suspend my belief again.

I saw both endings, and agree that the theatre ending is better, because it's more shocking and has the part that I jumped at, as I didn't see it coming.
