Sam KERRIDGE– Vic – Mid/Fwd – 18yo - 188cm

His kicking style is fine and long, but his accuracey is hurt by the fact he's going too fast for himself in his head. He needs a fair bit of polish in his overall game,

John Holmes in collage spoke of premature ejaculation in his first ever vid that the cheque he got for bounced!
so even the best when young were "flawed"

Not that it means alot but, just sayin!

Very pleased to have Kerridge, one of my favourite players from the draft, have him ranked at 16 in my power rankings. Probably should have been higher, I think he can have an impact straight away, tough, strong over the ball and strong overhead. Has a body for AFL and will only get stronger. Has pace and is very fit, can run all day and kick a long goal. Kicking worries not as bad as may seem, perhaps can blaze rather than finness but is a serious midfield talent and may end up in the best 10 players from this draft.

We needed him last season!

Would have fit like a glove with our game plan.

Not a bad summary Thunder.

Like this kid. Still got some development to go but his current attributes are pretty exciting. If he can add some polish to his game, he could be a real prospect because the athleticism is there and - even better - so is the ball-winning ability. And no flight risk.

Good to see the recruiters weren't scared off by the champs performances.

After being selected into the AIS academy, there was also the promise that he would be picked up - it was more a matter of where.
And it couldn't have turned out better for Kerridge, whose home town is closer to Adelaide than Melbourne, when Crows recruiting man Matt Rendell read out his name at No. 27.

"Exciting times," he said. "To get the opportunity to play for the Adelaide Crows - I couldn't be happier.
"Being a bit closer to home is outstanding and there are also people I know in Adelaide, mates-wise and some relatives.
"We were lucky enough to do a tour of the club with the Vic Country group when the match was in South Australia and I can't wait to head down."

He can look back at the difficult time of missing a season as a learning experience now.
But at the time, it was a source of frustration and a testing period.
"I think the best thing I could do was to be positive and do everything I can to get back," he said. "Now, I'm going to do everything I can to have an impact."

No flight risk by the sounds of it (which we already know). Hope to see him work hard in the pre-season and earn a spot in the Round 1 team :thumbsu:.

If anyone has Twitter, checkout the legs on Kerridge. Looks prime for round 1. Sorry cannot post the pics- Im using my phone. :thumbsu:

His physique will certainly allow him to challenge for a round 1 spot. Brodie Smith got a spot in the Round 1 team, so there is no reason why Sam shouldn't be a chance to get in the team early.

Kerridge was on both Ch 7 and Ch 9 tonight, saying that whatever it took to be in the round 1 team, he was gonna do it.

I love the intensity of this lad. He wants to be a footballer with a burning passion, and he gives you the feeling that barring injury he will be in the team from the get go next year!! :thumbsu:
