AFL Club
Carlton
hi all

carlton desparately needs a ruckman...french is a battler but we need a solid backup.

chambers looks ok...can anyone fill me in on him- good, o good, worth a look??

how much would we have to give u for him?

on a side note, koulouriotis doesnt look like hes getting much of a go so is he worth a look?

Chambers is also a battler.

He is too small for a genuine ruckman but he has a crack, throw himself around and makes his presence felt.

With King and Ottens' injury history we will keep him as insurance.

Chambers is a solid backup and tries his hardest, but will never be a top ruckman. If King and Ottens stay fit and Blake develops, he wont get much of a look-in. But there is zero chance of us delisting him.

If he'd played in the Sydney final, he would have made a huge difference once King went off.

I'm not sure what his trade worth is, but we wouldn't let him go for anything less than your 2nd round pick. He is not a great player, but ruckmen aren't easy to get.

That about sums it up.

We'd move him if we got an awesome deal, but otherwise he's good insurance for King and will remain until Blake is ready.

Something tells me that Sarge is the ultimate team/club man.He knows that he will never be first or second choice yet he knows if things fall a certain we he will get games.Bar a couple of seconds he would have been playing in a preliminary final for us.He not a champion player but he is a champion tryer and is admired my the playing group for that.
My opinion is if he was offered a chances to be 1st or 2nd ruckman elsewhere and he wished to give it a go, then we try to assisst in getting the trade done (for the right price) otherwize lets keep a clubman like him as a backup. Its a long year and he will get games even if its just to rest King or Ottens.
Frankly there are other talls on our list that would go before him.We got P20 for Street which got us Haynes who now looks like he is going,going...
Have to be very good deal in my opinion.

We need him. Like everyone else said, he's dedicated to the club and worth keeping around as third ruck. You would have to offer something of equivalent worth, say Barnaby French? ;)

Hands off.
He's contracted and the only reason he's not been playing every game is that he's being nursed through injury. He'll be right to go next year, for sure.

koula is not in our best 28 imo even when fully fit.

I'll second that. He seems that little bit too slow for the 1's. IMO he will struggle to ever cement a spot.

There are some players who are very talented that cannot take the next step successfully. IMO, Koula is one of them.

Another James Rahilly in the making.

Koula would work at Carlton cause he would get a regular spot, problem with Geelong is he is in and out and then injured then out then in. If he remained injury free he would play every game for you.

We did.

I wasn't happy, but we still did better than Carlton's third round draft pick!
Either. At least he has a bloody go, Sydney could do far worse.

However, with our drafting history, I have faith in the club at this stage, that they have done the right thing.
