Hey freo fans, whats the go with Haselby? Promised to be one of the AFL's elite after a stellar debut (and follow-up seasons) ... however last yr was well below his best, and then again frustrated by injuries again in 2006.

What exactly are his injury problems? and do u rekon that he will be able to overrcome them to give u a chance of winning a flag sometime in the near future? In other words can he overcome these injuries / or are his the type that will hamper him for the rest of his career?

Cheers guys, and go Hase!

Had in fantasy team this year, and usually every year- he is a gun. Cut down by OP this year, in the games he played, he made an impact, just couldn't get the body right. is a gun, a top 30 AFL player when fit...

i dont think anyone could tell you for certain that he will be injury free next year. He had an operation for a hernia last year and he has had another operation this year for OP

in my opinion he is our most important player in 2007. If he can overcome injury we're well on our way

Not happy with the way he was handled.
Played into the ground, subsequently provided little return the past few years and may have had his career reduced.

Conolly's comments something to the effect of
"We thought he had 1 maybe 2 games left in him"

Angered me

I didn't hear those comments Sabre, but they aren't good. But surely the main problems for haelby were at the start of the year where he was maybe played too much too soon. Obviously he had the ability, but not the physical maturity. He got back injuries, and has suffered physically ever since.

I wonder how permanent his injuries are? If they are here to stay, then a Coach and the player need to make hard decisions about when they play this particular card for most effect.

I have this sick feeling we will never see him 100%. Was surprised that he was not seriously talked about as possible Captain. I think Pav is the right choice, but Haselby is a very natural leader for this club. I wonder if him not being talked about is because his injuries will compromise him.

He is a a senior player. He declared himself fit when he obviously wasn't.

We can all sympathise with him but I thought he did the wrongy by you guys when he insisted on playing when unfit and left you under manned in a vital final.

The guy is an outstanding player and important to you but only if fit.

He's from the Sharks so I love him but I think he got it wrong last year. I hope he gets back to full fitness.

I believe that Hase is as important to out team as Pav and Bell.He is the master of getting the ball clear of stationary contests. His quickness of hands is second to none.Very very important that he is 100% next season.

Apart from the final against Adelaide Hase played well in most of the games he was selected for in the second half of the season even though he was unable to train. That indicates to me that he will return to his best once his problems are behind him. He should be allowed to take his time and find match fitness at the sharks if need be, better to have a 100% fit Hasleby start his season in round 10 than rush back for round one.

If Hasleby isn't ready to play at the start of next season and Tarrant settles in well Pavlich should spend half of each game on the ball.

I agree with that one, but maybe not from round 1. These guys need as much time together as possible, in fact they should be living with one another over the pre-season to get to know one another! :)

He did the same to Johnny Barker and ruined his career. When you get OP and keep playing it can get so bad that it makes it hard to ever recover.

Yeah....right.
I'm sure that the mismangagement of Barker was all Connollys doing. He really ran him into the groung for that one game where he was head coach of the Hawks, and totally ruined his career. ;)

Fly away troll.

Actually IP, I think he's actually right! I've seen him on TV saying he's called chops because it's his favourite food.

Perhaps, but it's the comment that it's "the amount of fatty chops he eats" that makes him a troll. It's well known that Hase likes chops, but unless The(no)Reason has been to eat with him on a regular basis, how would he know that he eats any particular "amount" of "fatty" chops, unless he was trolling.

And the unspoken slur against Hase is that the "fatty chops" that he supposedly eats a large amount of, somehow has something to do with his OP.

The(no)Reason is nothing but a troll.
