Pendlebury hamstring?

🥰 Love BigFooty? Join now for free.

Now I'm not denying he is injured, but I dare say if Scott Pendlebury had a hamstring and was no chance of playing this week, he would be behind closed doors at Lexus, not walking the boundary at Gosch and letting the whole football world know he's injured.

fair enough - i just had lunch with the man after he came straight from the session. so beleive what you will.

pendles may have just been resting a sore body?? who knows - all i am saying is that he trotted around in the track suit... nothing more nothing less

You may be correct, he may just be having a day off, but if he was 100% injured, he wouldn't be walking around in the cold at Gosch, he would have no showed and been behind closed doors.

If he is injured, then we will soon enough know, and you become a more reliable source.

im not really worried about being a 'reliable source'.

i dont want pendles to be injured! all i am doing is letting you all know what i have been told... i hope he goes out there and tears port a new one!

I'm the mate of Piesman who was at the session this morning. As it was listed as closed to "opposition and media" nobody had a problem with the 20 or 30 pies fans and a bunch of school kids watching.

Pendles had his training gear on and didn't run at all. He kicked the footy a couple of times when he first got out there (i can't remember which leg) and did not participate in the rest of the session. He had his runners on, not footy boots, and spent most of the time on the sidelines or waslking around.

Travis Cloke and Danny Stanly were off on the adjacent oval with Justin Crow doing rehab work and pendles defeinitely wasn't in that group.

In other news Medhurst and Rocca were no-shows.
Thomas was moving extremely well and will definitely be back this week.
Didak completed the whole session but never quite reached 100% intensity from what I saw, and I was watching him pretty closely. He would be an outside chance to return this week. It's still possible though.

He was reported to have a minor thigh twinge in the Carlton game that saw him sit out the first 10 mins of the third quarter. Having said that he looked unhampered last week against West Coast.

Hopefully, it is just a niggle. Fingers crossed!

Thanks for the training up-date Just Kick It. It's really appreciated by us interstate supporters.

I'm still a little mystified at the club's apparent obfuscation. Why deny on the official website that Pendles was injured and say he trained, when he clearly didn't?

No Problems SM. Happy to help out. At least the GFC has enabled me to make it down to the odd training session!

There's an open session on Saturday before the game on Sunday evening. It will most likely be a light session but it's be great if someone was able to get down there and see which players are taking part. Unfortunately Piesman is making me play a round of golf against my will as I made him play a game of cricket in the summer.

Sounds like he is having an easy week.

Once again if a definite out he would of no showed with Rocca and Medhurst or be in the rehab group.

yep i agree.

the official denial stinks of the fact that there is something to deny doesn't it?

anyway - he could just be sore. but he certainly didn't train and was just in his runners. make of it what you will i guess

Or perhaps your mate didn't actually see Pendles train but saw him warming up prior to training.

It will only go to show how much we miss the Tinman when he is not, i just wish he was a little bit not soft.

I remember the first game when he ran back with the flight of the ball, dont think it has happened since. WTF?

Not all players have that in them, but you cant discount his playing ability and I guess thats his forte. I am sure he still get his fair share of knocks and bumps each game, especially in traffic.

yeah i agree, forgive me for dreaming. i have always stated that he will be a far better player when we get some hard bodies around the contest to help him out

HE IS VERY NOT SOFT YOU FREAKING MORON.

Sure he is not Luke Hodge or Joel Selwood. He is far from Wells, Gibbs or Lonie either.

He goes when it's his turn, maybe not with the same belief as some of the above but still goes. The fact that he does more work in tight winning contested ball and feeding outside runners pretty much makes you little bit not soft thing ridiculous.

The guy is top 5 in the AFL for contested possies.

Too true, Shawthing.

In a lot of ways Pendles' extracting abilities are a lot like Ablett's, because he manages to find the ball in close while still keeping his feet, which in turn enables him to be involved in the next play. The way he approaches the contest allows him to get possession of the ball as well as be effective with it, hence his high disposal efficiency rating. He is not remotely soft, he just plays the game wisely, getting down and dirty when necessary.

There's a thread a mile long debating Pendlebury's 'softness' stay on topic.

Any more news on how he's pulling up?

By far one of my favourite players.

And more crucial in dream team than most. No one has him and he scores 100+ every week :(

It's not uncommon for a player to have a lazy session especially if they're sore.

He's been named so it's probably a minor issue and not a full blown tear.

At worst he'd miss this week and Melbourne as we have a week off after that.
