Toast Pendles AA again

On the footy show Dermie gets introduced as 5time All Australian, 5time night finals blah blah. WELL! Let's hope he get a 6 or 7th AA and another flag :)

He's fast building his resume as one of the greatest individual performers not only in Collingwood history but in AFL history...

5 x AA
1 x Norm
1 x Premiership
2 x Copelands
Countless other game medals such as Anzac medals

I was reading that since 1982 (when a form of the best team in Australia was created) Roos, Platten and Bradley, Kernahan and Madden hold the record with 9 AA nominations - I can see Pendlebury reaching nine with continued fortunes with injuries

N.b Ablett has 8 - will most likely get more

If Pendlebury in rest of career does get to eight AA, then he'll equal present record-holders in
R Harvey, M Ricciuto and [from tonight on] G Ablett jnr.
By the way, hope you get chance at some stage to read something a little more accurate than what you've recently been looking at. First AA team was in 1953, then 1956, 1958, 1961, 1966, 1969, 1972, 1979, 1980, 1988 (from Carnivals); 1983, 1985, 1986, 1987 (from interstate matches) and annually from 1991 until now (AFL comp). There was no AA team in 1982, and none of the five players you name have been chosen AA nine times.
AFL Record Season Guide is seriously flawed - over 100 players have incorrect AA selections listed !!

Heppell was brilliant all year, Pendles had an outstanding first half of the season.

Five AA's on the trot is no mean feat in any case, bench or not.

Pendles so underrated, with all the injuries he's had to fill so many holes and worked bloody hard to do so, could not have done much else in his first year as Captain, absolute champ.

2015-2018 AA Captain, calling it now.

it is actually criminal the lack of media coverage he receives. I try not to hold a bias view but besides Ablett, Pendlebury is IMO clearly the best player in the league. He is much more complete than Fyfe and Selwood. Yet all anyone in the media does is cream themselves over Joel 'straight sets' Selwood.

Now Heppell is approaching Selwood's media love with a daily mention on AFL 360.

Some may say this has been a quieter season for Pendlebury, but i've seen it as his an awesome one. He literally dragged us over the line vs Sydney, and continually tracked backed and stood up in all our big games this season.

All Class.

Mostly a brisbane guy and the nuffy Adam H.

Not sure there's ever been a post on the main board involving Collingwood that Adam hasn't jumped on, 2010 must have destroyed him.

Great effort by Pendles, probably his 'worst' year for a while but still at AA level. Should be able to pass Bucks record of 7.

I think we all get biased by late season form and forget the season as a whole. He was killing it for 2/3 of the year

You look at Rance' selection and not Eric MacKenzie based purely on season finishing form, what a joke

When I'm a crazy, senile, bitter old bird I look forward to telling my grand kids that I used to go and watch Scott Pendlebury play football. I'll tell them how he stopped time while others would panic, weave through packs with grace and poise and ultimately lead us to our 16th Premiership (this is my dream, don't ruin it).

In all seriousness, he is the greatest footballer I have had the pleasure of watching wear the black and white stripes. I wish he got the outside recognition he deserves, such a well rounded, driven, professional and consistent player. God I love him.

Pendles is a star, any player want to play with him and under him. Cops a hard tag every week, comes up clutch every week. With players going down left right and centre, single handedly gaves us chances to win still.

There's a reason guys like Rockliff don't get tagged, even if he gets 40 touches. If Pendles was allowed to roam free.. oh my lord...
