The WACA was Perth Football Club's home ground until the late 1950's when they moved to Lathlain Park. Perth & EP both moved back there briefly in the late 80's early 90's and many neutral games were played there in that time to utilise the lights with double headers and a lot of WAFL finals in 93 & 94 when Subiaco Oval was being redeveloped.

thanks, I'm getting a real interest for perth's history. Its quite fascinating how humble the beginnings of this town was.

Interesting stuff.

Etihad seems so short. One kick out of the centre square and you're deep inside 50 when really it's only 500mm longer than the G. Crazy.

Longer then better for the new Perth stadium IMO.

Just out of interest, who decided the dimensions of the Perth stadium? The AFL? The WAFC? Someone else?
