GWs just want 22 number 1 picks running around now don't they lmao.
The challenge they face is keeping them all.
With a reducing salary cap advantage each year, they will find it difficult to keep all of these low picks just when the players are peaking.

the only way we'll get Petracca is if he does a knee and devalues his draft value. Similar to Dawes when he got picked up by us

Lumumba and pick 8 to Melbourne for pick 2-3, Saints will most likely go for a tall and we can get Petracca possibly with 3 and definitely with 2.

Let's wait and see if we still have pick 8 after the F/S bidding process is concluded before we start trading it away.

What would we have to give with pick 8 to get a pick early enough to get Petracca?

Pick 8 likely gets used on Moore.

To have a shot at Petracca, Dayne Beams or Ben Reid and a secondary piece say Jack Frost would have to be traded.

Teams don't just give up pick one overall. Same story with pick two overall. Clubs use that pick to (some might say falsely) sell hope to their fans as a real marketing tool. That and they generally evaluate the player as being the best in the draft which history suggests rarely is the case.

Given this it's definitely not something I would have any willingness to do.

Petracca looks set to go on and have a very strong career. He is this years Dustin Martin equivalent as that powerful forward who will physically take advantage of defenders and can push into the midfield. It's not something so appealing that I am willing to give up established list talent for.

Dustin Martin is one of the most exciting and skillful players in the competition. If we could pick someone like him up in exchange for Ben Reid I would.

Why would someone bid above pick 8 for Moore? There are heaps of good injury free KPP.. Everyone is being caught up in the media here. He might not even go to the draft combine because of his hip further making claims we will get him as a second round pick.

But for Reid and Frost?

That's what it would take - looking back at the old Luke Hodge to Hawthorn deal with Hawthorn dealing Luke McPharlin and Trent Croad in that similar deal.

In our situation given our heavy list turnover over recent seasons I would personally be against a deal of this type. Petracca in my mind isn't a genuine number one overall selection as I would say with Martin. He will be a good player and for a first year player good right away but he isn't a franchise player and it sets you back as a club with even more games of experience lost. We're as a list in a position where we need to add more games of experience with our list too young and without enough veteran experience.

Moore isn't the top 1 or 2, though some others disagree.

I see Moore as roughly a 3-8 talent in this draft.

It's generally seen as McCartin and Petracca in some order are the two best. Then in that next group Lever, Durdin, Brayshaw, Wright and Moore with Heeney another who fits into that group but is going to Sydney as an academy player.

Moore is good and is someone long term with the scope to develop. Like other KPPs he is still a developing player but he has the right mix of attributes to suggest he'll be a very good key position player for us.

Could use pick 8 to get Tom Mitchell ??

Not if we nominate Moore.

Pick 8 likely would attract Mitchell given he has been around for a few years and can't get a senior game. Would also be nice salary cap relief for Sydney and a great chance for them to add a key defender.

I like the way you think. delusionally.

Interesting concept. Can delusional thinking actually be considered thinking? Surely thinking requires some sort of logical process, in which case being delusional might best be described as an emotional response?

Being in a delusional state, can promote a certain type of decision, therefore if a decision is made it can be considered delusional thinking. Example Mick Malthouse leaving Reid on Hawkins in GF 2011, and thinking that the masses would not notice the negligence he showed the 80,000 odd pies members. Delusional.
