cotchin's dad must be worried......we will take kreuzer at no. 1 as we are desperate for a long term ruck and richmond will wan't to have both of the morton boys running around in the yellow and black, which means the weagles would probably take cotchin but they might not as his parents aren't keen and he may do a judd and ask to be traded home....anyway good luck to the boy, wherever he ends up

We were the same last year with Gibbs but we were always going to take him. Again, just playing their cards close to their chest. I'm sure we'll be taking Kreuzer. Be no other reason to hold out for the number 1 pick.

I'm sure we didn't go through the effort of retaining pick 1 for the sake of a midfielder. You miss one of those and there's plenty of others, whether that be this year or other years. I'd be very pissed if they go for a midfielder as I would've let the Eagles have pick 1 and we'd keep Kennedy.

A potentally good big man like Kreuzer is alot harder to find. Given he's Morrish Medalist the competition's number 1 ruckman as well as coming second in the goalkicking, has a huge motor and good speed I think he's a no-brainer.

God this line of argument annoys me. The reason good big men are hard to find is because plenty start out good, but they take forever to develop, then get injured, then fade. Basically picking a great junior ruckman just means you have used a pick on someone who may not end up being all that durable. Stupid idea.

The other part of this argument that annoys me is that it assumes GREAT midfielders are a dime a dozen. AVERAGE midfielders are. GREAT midfielders are rare!!!

This really shits me. No one EVER says "pick Kreuzer cos he is a better player". What does that tell you? Plenty say "pick Cotchin cos he is a better player". Kreuzer people say "pick the RUCKMAN" "pick the big guy". What does this tell you???????????????????????????????????????

Aarrrrrrgggggghhhhhh. I hope our recruiting staff don't use logic like this.

I thought it was a fairly valid point, I mean if you want a premiership side why wouldnt you tank for one more year to get a bloke infinitely more talented than Kruezer as a ruckman.

Let's hope they use don't your line of arguement. Big blokes do take longer because of the size factor. At 18 their physically not ready that's why it takes time and is more difficult ot really make it. If they do make it there's a much bigger upside. That problem isn't so attributable to a midfielder. Good midfielders can be found alot more easily than a good big bloke. I'm sure you can work that out. Most experts can, or maybe you know more. That is a no-brainer. What it tells me is that you struggle.

If you ever take up recruiting please let it not be at Carlton .

The best player? Kreuzer won the Morrish Medal, was the number 1 ruck and also finished equal second in the goalkicking. Tells me he's the best player. Craig Kelly left us in no doubt on SEN that Kreuzer was certainly the best and we'd be stupid give give up pick 1 and miss out on him, even at the expense of Judd. We've already picked up the best player with our picks. He's called Judd. If we wanted another mid why did we fight so hard to keep pick 1. We could've given away pick 1 picked up a good mid anyway and kept Kennedy. I'm guessing you're going to be wrong and we get Kreuzer. I think I'll go with Craig Kelly's judgement rather than "Windows" off BigFooty.

I think Kreuzer is far from locked in.

I know the MC rates Hammer, and if they rate Aisake too it makes sense to take Cotch.

My vote is for Cotch

l think it is highly likely we will take Kreuzer, as l would suggest we could have given the West Coast pick 1 & 20 for the Judd deal and still kept Kennedy and then made a choice of Cotchin/Morton.

Carlton's decision here suggests Kreuzer is the player they really want.

Rodan won the Morrish twice but wasnt considered a top 10 ( went in the 30's). Matthew Bate won the Morrish ( didnt go top ten). It is not a good guide and the WA boys or Cotchin didnt get the chance to win it,

Of course Kelly is going to talk Kreuz up....he is his manager.....what do you expect from him?

Really you need to see the boys play though before you can comment with any knowledge

I still think if we were going to get a midfielder we'd have traded pick 1, saved oursleves alot of pain and kept Kennedy in the process. The reports certainly have him as the best player. Has too much of a huge upside to pass him up. Anyway, we have our midfielder. He's called Judd. I think cards are simply being kept close to the chest and we'll almost certainly take Kreuzer.

Also, we've lost Kennedy and well as the possibilty of Whitnall. A ruckman/forward in the mould of Corey McKernan would be an important pick-up given the losses. An important reason for retaining pick 1 and taking Kreuzer.

You should keep a leash on your players so they may live up to expectations. If you think Carlton was tanking, that means we should of won. Meaning we are the better side.

No one refers to Freo tanking, because no one expects them to be sober enough to win.
