We are obviously going for a midfielder.

Is Polec from the Eagles a chance here?

I'd say polec is a chance but rumour hs it that he is a bit of a twat... Probably what we need in terms of skill and attitude, quite frankly

I think polec will go at 8 to Essendon he's just what they need pacy midfielder i see the Crows getting Scott Lycett becuse they need a ruckman

Adelaide will not take a ruckman with its first round draft pick!

However so as not to be seen as a personal attack, which it isn't, have a check around or read what Craigy/Rendell has said re recruiting. Inside and outside mids were the first needs mentioned. check the afc website to have a look.

All i want for the crows to did is pick up the fastest most highly skilled player that they can.

I would rather highly skilled than pace but obviously not to the point that pace becomes an issue (if that makes sense...think on a demand/supply curve and change it to pace/speed - I have a breakeven point!!!!)

I'm thinking Brodie Martin type player with or without the ability to get his own ball.

I would love us to get Brodie Smith. I actually think he'll be the better player. Probably was just as good if not better than Polec in midfield while playing in the championships.

They are very similar but, Smith is a bit more Judd like in that he is better than Polec at clearances and breaking tackles, but hi space and skills are just as good as Polec.

Polec is more an outside mid where as Smith is inside/outside. Polec is probably more a Stephen Hill, where as Smith is more a Judd/Griffen, obviously without either reaching those heights yet.

Meh, the picks inside the top 10 pick themselves. It is the picks after 20 where Rendell earns his money. This is where Adelaide has regularly got in the last drafts a player which people later describe as a steal.

My wishlist is simple. Polec, Lamb or Atley. Any one of those and I am ecstatic.

For the rookie picks (probably 4 picks?) I'm hoping for Matty Snook, Simon Phillips and a mature mid like Summerton or Liddle.

This epic insight is why you stay on your own boards, adelaide have 5 rucks when griffin moves on.
And will have passed off 3 in the past few years one a high draft pick that was a homesick lil punk in Meeson the other Hudson. The last thing they should be looking for is a long term ruck project with 6 league games to his name to clog the list when they have just lost at least 3 and looking at 4 mid-fielders and have massive pace issues with the players left. Sure they need an SA ruck so they don't piss off home but there is only so much influence you get from one ruck to another where as with a completely bland bunch of similar not so quick mids your staring down the barrel.

Essendon have nothing if not pacey players, nothing much forward or back, thus hurley is left to be toweled by Johnno Brown when he has no business playing there.

Interesting POV. I thought Hurley was drafted as the best KPD of his draft pool? I know he goes alright forward and is still quite young but surely having Hurley play KPD isn't that much of a stretch...is it???
