I wonder if the fact that Collins looks 40 has added to the prescription that he has less improvement in him than other prospects. Daniel Talia went mid first round and they seem like fairly comparable players to me.

Didn't he massively improve towards the end of the year with everyone super surprised at his combine results? I think i read that somewhere, if true doesn't seem like a player who has peaked to me.

Yep big improver. Tested well too but a lot of draft watchers suggested he tested better than he plays. He can look a bit slow at times but i wouldn't be too worried think he's a bit top heavy at the moment. He should fit into our zone well

He went from stopper to a guy who rebounds as well - enough improvement for Dal to take him

His improvement over the year shouldn't come as too much of a surprise considering he's still only 17, I think that often gets forgotten with him looking like yer da.

I was kinda hoping Mason wouldn't be drafted because I didn't want people to think we were the same person but, now he's a Don, he's my man.

Conspiracy: Dale and Collins are both from the Stingrays. When Dale was selected to play for them as a top ager he was scared of being drafted and moving interstate. He asked his dad to fake his name/age and play for them as a bottom ager so in a case where he were forced to move interstate he would possibly have someone to live with and wouldn't be too far from family. Enter Kieran Collins. Turns out they did both end up pretty far from home, just on the other side of Melbourne (basically another state). You know it makes sense.

Does anyone think he is a little heavy? weighed in just shy of 100kg at combine, only 193 or 194cm. It's one thing to play TAC at that weight, another to play AFL lugging that kind of weight around as an 18yr old. In any any case, should be easier to have him cut a few kegs, than try and bulk him up like Bailey or Declan.

Yep, I imagine we'll slim both he and Adams down a little. The good thing with Collins is that his beep result was quite good despite his weight, so there's no issue with fitness. Dropping him down a little bit will hopefully help with his agility/speed.

I was disappointed to not get Collins but because Im also a Doggies member Im over the moon for you guys.
The only query was pace but if you think Ben Rutton he's not quick but has done really well. He did really well in the clean hands test before the draft
