Was all round good- good hands, decent at ground level, booming kick and hit the packs with far more authority than you get from most first gamers. There were a number of times him and Kennedy worked very well with each other in contested situations, overall a nice, 7/10, 8/10 type debut.

If he builds on this, it raises some interesting questions about team balance once Darling is back on deck- do you play McInnes as the back up ruckman accepting that you'll get more out of him up forward than Lycett?

Good start from Fmac, presented better than I've seen him do in the WAFL. If he did, he would've gotten a game sooner. If it weren't for the injuries, he might have had to wait longer.

why did we wait this long to pull the trigger on him?

there's been a fair queue in front of him, even when we were playing 3 rucks (incl. cox) last year.

if he continues to progress though, does it make one out of sinclair, lycett and mcinnes expendable?
(that's presuming nicnat, mcgovern and darling are off-limits.)

Probably, but apart from Lycett we wouldn't get much in return, and would be better off keeping them for depth (eg what happens if Kennedy gets a long term injury next week, God forbid, touch wood etc)

As good as he was, I can't really place the position he is most suited to?

Mid? Fwd?

Center half forward that rotates further up the ground, providing a target out of defense. This then allows Kennedy to play the more traditional full forward position and receive more ball inside the fifty. With his extra height he will surely demand the second best defender, which will free up Darling back to the third tall defender.

Think that will work pretty well.

Is McInness, JJK, Darling and McLovin too top heavy up forward?
