I think we should draft this bloke at 6. probably the most athletic of the KPP who will be available and most likely will turn out the best.
Was touted as a top 3 pick at the start of the year before injury, and i believe will be a steal at pick 6.

Hurley may be a bigger body, but atm there is a question mark over his speed, and athleticism. Therefore i believe trengrove will be a better option, as he is more capable of playing CHB or CHF, with jammo at FB.

Could be a pick up just as the cats with selwood, injurred during the championships but was rated highly before. recovered from injury and is now an absoulute star!

This idea has interested me over the past few weeks.

Now I don't profess to know a massive amount about these kids, but this kid is an intriguing prospect from what I've read. The injury wasn't that bad and he's recovered well by all accounts.

If its true that he was previously rated as high as some say, it might be an opportunity to get an absolute elite talent with a lower pick.

I suppose it comes down to how much risk we want to take.

If you're going to pump someone up at least get their name right. You're a letter heavy my friend.

Better options at 6 for mine. Think he will be very good but best available at 6 should be better than Trengove.

Had he not been injured, I would have expected him to be a top 10 draft selection for sure - even top 5. Hopefully he has recovered fully so he has every chance of making it at AFL level.

Prior to his injury, he dominated for VM against VC at the MCG earlier this year. He is just a very complete footballer.

So there isn't a question over a guy's speed and athleticism after he rips the hamstring off the bone?

What if it turns out that Trengove's game was built purely on his speed and athleticism, and now that he (potentially) loses some of that he goes form being a very good player to just an average one?

He COULD be a massive steal at 6, but there is plenty of risk. Would be interesting to see how he interviewed......what sort of bloke is he. I imagine J Selwood interviewed very well and there would never have been any doubt he would work hard to get over his injury and become the footballer he wanted to be.

Is Trengove similarly motivated?

If he is, might be worth the punt.......and the injury shouldn't be an ongoing issue........if there are any questions over his work rate then a big NO.:thumbsu:

For your information, here is some detail on him. Looks OK but he seems like another Cloke, Kruezer, Hartlett to me. Plays Ruck and maybe CHB or CHF. We have enough of those. We need........as you say a "specialist" CHF, not a part time ruck/KP player.

Jackson Trengrove Utility 196cm
Calder 2/11/1990 77kg

Trengrove was one of the best players in the 2007 TAC Cup finals series, putting in four dominant performances in the ruck for premiers Calder. He averaged 17 disposals, six marks, six groundball gets, 19 hitouts and three clearances in those four games, winning plenty of possession around the ground along with an eilte hit out to advantage rate. While he impressed in the ruck towards the end of the year, he was versatile enough to play in defence early in the season when he averaged six rebound 50s and six spoils per game in his opening four matches.

No one will draft Trengrove this year...

Of course someone will...unless he had his leg amputated, or there are long term complications, someone will undoubtedly pick him up.

If Brent Prismall was worth 39 with a dicky knee, I can still see Trengove being taken in the second round.

Honestly, is this what passes for humour on this board now...pointing out typos.

My god people, what have we become...oh the humanity...

No so much a type Comso, but the majority of posters on BF spell his name incorrectly.

I agree with HBF, type-o's generally are petty and shouldn't warrant a post, but when it's a player's name a correction is warranted.

Thought this was worth a note, but not its own thread:

Just on Prismall...........SEN took talkback after Lloyd was on this AM regarding the mooted Lloyd for Judd trade.

One Dons supporter was saying that while Judd was a good player he was happy to kepp Lloyd....the heart and sould of Windy hill blah blah blah...........and besides, had they got Judd they probably wouldn't have got Prismall.

Wow.......would hate to have let Judd get in the way of nabbing Prismall.:p:D

Poor fella.

(Prismall that is) ;)
