Nah he spent all last year as a forward, it’s defence he’s newer to, but many say it’s his better position.

And no, we won’t be seeing a Sier type pick at 6, although there’s every chance of it happening at a later pick. Wouldn’t be surprised if we select Butts at 38 for instance over Petty/Taylor/Clavarino.

Surely us taking Butts is a moral then. We need to keep our tradition of drafting funny surnames.

I can't remember the name, but it definately wasn't ~the scout~. Unless he was going by another name back then. But I recall on the Saturday morning of the draft, whoever it was posted the mail that it was going to be Thomas @ 2 & Pendles @ 5

It was also on SEN in the morning before themdraft started that Collingwood was going to spring a surprise and pick Pendles. It was very late but it was being discussed strongly in that last 24 hrs.

I dont want to waste pick 6 on anything but best available but a kpp is desperately needed.

Hoping Naughton is worthy...... having Sumich compare him to Jacovich is a pretty good start.

In the article Peter Sumich said he'd only ever seen one player more ready for AFL than Naughton and that was Glen Jakovich. Not a bad comparison.

Be hard in my view to skip someone like Brayshaw or Cerra I think but it is tempting to try and bed down your KP stock for the next 8-10 years. Loving the Pies goes a long way in my heart. We have a lot of midfield depth, I'm a big wrap for Wills particularly. Might be able to get some outside pace later in the draft. Tough decision.

Yep definitely could. He’s probably the most ready made KPP of the draft. Played some good games at senior level for Peel in the WAFL.

It’s interests me all the same though because my own thought process was that I feel a bit uncomfortable about it with Naughton yet to convince me completely at 6, but if Dow or Rayner said it I’d be up and about.

At the very least he must have a good indication that Freo are very keen on him at 5.

Not often you get a top 10 pick come out and say he only wants one club.

I'm keen on Coffield or maybe Fogarty, but if we take Naughton I'll back him in all the way. He's one of us.
