You don't really want to be playing elite sport whilst on atenolol. It's an old drug, there are better alternatives out there to treat arrhythmia.

It's extremely tough to know what he actually has, the possibilities are endless.

Edit: okay, so if he actually has hypertrophic cardiomyopathy that requires a beta-blocker for treatment, I can see why clubs are very cautious regarding his ability to play elite sport long-term.

It's tough to gauge.

That’s your diagnosis I assume. He said he was an extremely minuscule case, so likely much smaller fluctuations.

That selection was all Ned guy. Love that we've poached him ( obviously for serious coin) but worth it. As good as hine and the team have been Ned has straight away changed thought patters to focus only on talent and not contemplate risk. Sounds silly right? That's what I thought when told but he's from the ' new world' thinking which is take the most talented player because now you can recruit/trade players quickly and for free after 6 years ( which will be the new free agency period).

Ik Collingwood injury record ain’t great but he was checked off by cardiologists etc. so doubt his heart has a problem and Stephenson seems to know how to deal with it

Jeez I tell you what watching all of his interviews, steohenson looks a ripper bloke. Real humble and genuine and I really hope he lives up to his potential and proves critics of his health problems wrong

He's not as bad a kick as made out and lack of pace in the forward half of the ground is nearly as big an issue as our kicking tbh.

Stephenson probably the second best player in this draft imo. You can't argue with his performances to date and his scope for improvement is much greater than Cerra, Dowe, LDU imo. He does have slightly greater bust potential though.

It gets close when you compare him with Fogarty imo but (a) Fogarty's best footy will be as a big bodied midfielder (providing he can find the endurance) and we already have a lot of quality in that position; and (b) I think the way the game is moving - pace and gut running is becoming more important again - suits Stephenson much more than it does Fogarty. There are questions on fogarty's endurance and if he can't get it to a level to be a good midfielder then he just becomes another good half back flanker and we already have a load of those.

Nathan Murphy at 39 looks very good by foot. He hits targets.
