If we have carte' blanche at pick six. ;)

  1. Hurley.
  2. Ziebell.
  3. Hartlett.
  4. Sidebottom.

This clueless poster would rather Carlton pick the most physical and aggressive player if the Scum pick Hurley and they're hard to split.

  1. Ziebell.
  2. Hartlett.
  3. Sidebottom.

Take a look at the don't argue or bump Ziebell dishes out to the older and more experienced Rich near the end of this video before disposing of the ball. :thumbsu:

44 second mark

Rich looks shocked and dumbfounded at what just happened.

Tough player who wouldn't have looked out of place in Saturday's game. ;) :thumbsu:

Yet Ziebell looks a bit like Gibbs where he evaded the older Mitch Robinson(I think) by slapping his arms away and kicked on his left - 1 minute 51 second mark.

A Hodge type mark and destroyation of his opponent before he drills the pass like Hodge

Doubt we'll get the big young fella if he can do that.

1. Watts.
2. Rich.
3. Ziebell.
4. Naitanui.
5. Hurley.
6. Hartlett.

What are the odds of this happening?

How crazy was that don't argue?

I can't stop watching it.

Ziebell gets Rich with a left elbow to the chest or throat when he's holding the ball with his left hand.

Yet Ziebell didn't lose possession because he switched hands and came charging out of the pack with the ball.

:)

I believe Ziebell to be the real deal TG but you are reading a lot into that collision

Am I now?

I can see what TGR was referring to when he said Ziebell put an opponent into the next day in a TAC Cup match with a tackle or a bump.

We need...

Please get....

Agree. i'd hardly call that a big don't argue. He ran into him in the course of play and Rich failed to lay the tackle? Then Rich turned around to follow the play, hardly looked stunned.

I haven't seen anything of Ziebell but from those videos his skills looked excellent on both sides and if he has the hardness people are talking about then he sounds like the exact the player we require.

1. ziebell- will be that hard tackler we need, like bentick with the footskills of buckley.
2. hurley- purey to release waite, but i reckon our backline is shaping nicely anyway and his speed worries me.
3. Yarran- freakish forward/mid who could manage stints on the ball and also play as a key forward- see mark williams.
4. Trengrove- purely on a needs basis, the kid will be something.

sidearse is a gun but people are focusing too much on the one amazing game. he has great consistancy but lacks the elite upside others that will be around at 6 possess imo.

Does anyone else have a bad feeling that on draft day we won't have pick 6?

If that ends up being the case I think I'll be fine with it because it would mean that we haved picked up a star like Kerr.

After watching those videos again I'm going to have to confirm my interest in Sidebottom over Ziebell. Ziebell is a much scrappier sort of footballer and he seems to blast away with his kicking rather than spotting up targets. Sidebottom does the hard stuff, but he's able to find more room while in possession, and hits his targets even if those targets aren't 50m away.

In short, Pagan would be in love with Ziebell but under Ratts we should go for Sidebottom if left with the choice between those two. But again, what do I know?

How many top 20 picks are WC likely to have?

Nah, think we'll be able to hang onto selection #6. Given the quality coming through, i'd be highly surprised if we "gave this pick away".

I went down from Brisbane to watch the GF and after seeing both teams go flat out at the ball and some extremely "tough" but "fair" hits I think whoever we get has to be a real "tough nut".
We already have lots of skill in our team and need to develop some of that "Hodge" tough, fair aggression. On that basis "Hurley" gets my nod.;)

Anyone have concerns over how slow Ziebell looked in TAC grand final.

May have been his injury but I never once saw him on a lead in the forward 50.

I have only seen him play twice on TV but he hasn't impressed me.

Jack is quick enough. Jack was playing on fumes I reckon. Seemed to be instructed to play between the center circle and 50m arc and use his booming right foot to kick it in quick and long
