We are still a chance for Pickett

THE AGE this morning
As it stood last night, Hay and West Coast's David McConnell will join the Roos, Daniel Motlop is to leave Arden Street for Port Adelaide and Hawthorn and West Coast will share in a package of draft picks.
A secondary deal involving Melbourne, Port and the Hawks was also being brokered in which Byron Pickett will join the Demons, Nathan Lonie will head for Port and the Hawks will receive unspecified compensation, possibly Melbourne's second-round pick, selection 28. Port had earlier moved to include Melbourne's Steven Armstrong in the deal before opting for the quicker and long-kicking Lonie."

If we we're unable to get Pickett would it be worth going for brad or chris Scott just to add some grunt for for next year??
I know they would probably only last one season but I think someone like that is really needed down back.

hmmm, i dunno how old are they these days?

The Scott brothers are 29 and apparantly will not be offered contracts at Brissy next year.
I don't know if they are considering playing on or not. If they are, I wouldn't mind one of those nut cases running around in the back line at the right price.

pickett sounds like a good pick up for us i think, some added toughness around the ground. arma is not bad but isnt a vital part of the team, and i cant see him being one in the future. pickett is a good fix to an obvious problem.

i have also heard that melbourne is looking at one of the scott brothers, brad i think. it was in the herald today. cause we missed out on witnall now we are looking at him. both together with the likes of moloney and miller would make melbourne a much tougher team.

Chris is halfway through a four-year contract. Brad is out of contract and won't be offered another AFAIK. I've also heard the rumour he'll be going to you guys. In return for what I'd be interested to know.

Nutcase? On the field maybe. Off the field both brothers are surprisingly polite, genuine and fiercely loyal. He'll give you good service if it happens.

I would love to see Pickett in the Red & blue. Imagine him smashing into packs! something unheard of until Moloney and Miller came along. We might start to be known as a rough as guts team (maybe a lil way off) Either way by securing Pickett it also means that we are preparing to have a tilt at a flag and not restarting a rebuilding process again.

We must get him!

Scott brother/s im undecided on but if they came along also we would have so many hard nuts Miller, Moloney,Scott,Wheels,Pickett

All those guys listed go in hard for the pill and suddenly one of our major flaws might be solved

Byron Pickett would compliment your sides other hard men so well and he is worth taking in my opinion. A few good seasons from him along with a few of your other players playing well/continuing to improve, the Dees would probably be able to expect to make progress when they make the finals.

since whitnall is staying and richmond have given up on fev (afl site for details on that) we may have a crack at fev.

12 + bizzel + maybe 28 if needed? I'd be willing to do that as we would have a ready made replacement for neitz. if he can kick 50 goals a year with the ********house carlton midfield den he can kick more with us :)

Fev won't go and he is too risky. Sure, he could kick 100+ but then again he could kick 40 and be the ****wit he has known to be at Carlton (See the B&F dinner).

While I am not a real fan of Pickett and don't really like him much, he could be a player to help us take that next step.

However we still need a forward. It is looking less likely that we are going to get a forward. Would have loved to have seen what we could have gotten for Green.

Good luck with Pickett. At his best he is absolutely brilliant.
He obviously had problems with the tribunal (unfair ones) plus off field issues this year, so a change of scenery could be just what the doctor ordered.

Pickett >>>>> Farmer.
You lot liked Farmer, so if Pickett comes to play you'll love him.
