Pickett to Hawthorn?

As some on the boards know, Pickett has decided to walk away from Port. With our links with the Port Adelaide Football Club; via Clarkson, Hardwick, the fitness guy etc. Do you think Pickett will be on his way to the Hawks' and if so would you accept him at the Hawthorn Football Club?

There are to many young and under developed bodies out there, we need a man that can bring some physical presense to implement Clarkson's word.

Agree, Hawwk. But six months between seasons pumping iron and other work under experts in developing properly proportioned bodies for AFL level does wonders. Watch this space.

I wouldn't mind Pickett if he was available for a cheap price. We are not desperate for his type, but if we can get him cheaply I wouldn't see why he couldn't add something to our team.

Mmm...Byron Pickett....lost his licence for drink driving and didn't have a licence at the time. That'll give something for Danny Jacobs to aspire to.

Apparently unable to adjust his naturally ruthless attack on player and footy so that the umps/tribunal have made it near impossible for him to play the game anymore. Next time he's at the tribunal he'll get double uplift activation points. Richie Vanders should be so lucky...where was Pickers during the Bomber brawl of 2004?

I'm not sure why we wouldn't add him to the team, he's better than players on our list, and if we got him cheaply he'd fill a role for us.

I'm not saying we should go after him hard, or offer anything of great worth, but surely he'd be better than quite a few options we have.

Has good run, good skills, and is hard at it. Surely he could add something. You can have a youth policy but still pick up experienced bodies to help them out.

Pickett is a gutless wonder and a disgrace to Football. He's not tough when he attacks players with only eyes for the football. He is gutless.

Besides this, look at the facts:
1.$300K salary, no way.
2. AFL Tribunal have his number, how many weeks will he get for his next weak off the ball attack on a player? 6,8,10,12??? When he gets reported again, he will be going out for a long time. We have enough problems trying to get players on the park each week (Barker, Scott, Boyle etc) without having someone on long term suspension.
3. With a young list he is NOT the role model for the kids.

So far I've heard the Hawks are looking to talk about trading Crawford, Everitt and Hay. Then I hear we are a chance to pick up Fevola, and now Pickett. When am I going to hear some GOOD trade rumours about the Hawks?

I'm not saying any of these things are going to happen, but if we must have rumours about who is coming to the Hawks, why can't they be exciting ones instead of wastes of space like Pickett and Fevola?
