How Did the Pie Players go in The Willi Game Today?

Come on - been waiting to hear all day.

Have massive wraps on Nicholls, Cox, ****, Reid and Brown so would be good to hear.

If things start going pear shaped up this year these guys need 'blooding' sooner than later. BL have shown the value of that approach.

I went to the game today checked out the reserves as well...reserves drew in the last dying seconds werribee scored a point and the gulls went defensive too early Ben Foley played well Stanley wasn't too bad...for the ones a big win...Cox was a star down back taking some good grabs and taking on the opposition with his run and long kicking Bryan wasn't too bad he was soundly beaten in the ruck but when the ball hit the deck he was almost the first one onto the ball getting a few clearance and around the ground he was pretty good d...ick was good flashy lead well but missed a sitter just before the last break after rovering a pack situation very well...Brown spoilt almost everything that came his way was pretty good his disposal was good nothing special...Reid presented well probably led to the wrong spaces a few times and most kicks coming into him kinda by passed him alot he pressured well laying some great tackles and chasing down a few others looks very quick...Clarke took a while to get going started to come on in the second half having a bit of a run from half back set up a couple goals and kicking one himself from about 45 into a strong breeze....wellingham was ok....my analysis obviously isn't great but if there's any questions shoot!

I missed the reserves, how did McAffer (no. 45) go?

I missed the reserves, how did McAffer (no. 45) go?

Saw the last 20 minutes of the Willy seconds game. Macaffer appeared to be moved to FF when the game was in the balance. Took a very strong one-grab contested mark against two opponents and kicked truly into the wind. Was impressed with that but saw nothing else of him.

Williamstown look quicker than Collingwood and moved the ball down the corridor more times than not. Brad Gotch will be very pleased. His players stuck to the gameplan when Werribee made a charge in the third term.

Shannon Cox found the ball a heap of times down back. He is ready to play senior football.

Brad Dick can read the play, flashy performance, kicked 3 goals.

Sharrod Wellingham is polish - beautiful user of the footy.

Martin Clarke had a stint up forward, but he looks more comfortable across the half-back line setting up a few plays.

Ben Reid is pretty nimble at ground level, setup a ripper goal, and chased a few players down.
the_jib... he needs to familise himself with Williamstown's gameplan.

Ben Davies ran hard all day. But I can't see him taking the next step, he may have a long career with Williamstown, by the looks of things.

Chris Bryan didn't have an impact: was on and off the ground for most of the game. He got reported for what looked like a head-high hit, whilst his opponent had his head over the ball, but his shoulders were tucked in.

Tyson Goldsack is 191cm, but you wouldn't think so. He weaved his way out of trouble a few times.
Could be something, but it is too early to tell.

Nathan Brown spoiled well from behind. But has a long way to go in his development.

Chris Egan, first game back, did a few classy things but not enough, needs to command more attention from the opposition around the ground. For once put his body on the line...wonders will never cease! :D

Good stuff CT.

Cox should get a game next week. I don't know who for though. Maybe time to start easing out Wakelin?

Not good about Byran. Could be McKee mark II.

I like the looks of Goldsack. From what I've seen (which is only his TAC video), he could be handy. Big fan of Wellingham.

Reid and Brown will need time. I hope they get 5 AFL games each and see what happens.
