No resources are allocated to it and it doesn't take any energy to provide our support. It's like creating an indigenous jersey or taking part in multicultural round (to me at least) so I'm fine with it.

No issues at all. But the Facebook post certainly is attracting a few so called "supporters".

For the dinosaurs like me that don't have Facebook........please explain?

That is why you stay out of it. You are going to upset someone whichever way you go. Eddie and the board can express their personal views but they do not, in my opinion, have the right to speak for 70,000 members.

The marriage act has been changed 20 times by politicians since it was first enacted, we were never consulted about any of those changes.
Why is this question being asked of us now?
Politicians have just one job to do, so do it.

Sport and Politics have never been separate, they are two prongs of the same fork.

I am guessing no voters who are on the attack. The extremes on both sides are a disgrace. Just respect other peoples views, even if you disagree with them. We have separation of church and state for this very reason.

Obvious assumption is that they're no voters with a strong message? I've always found it fascinating that people are prepared to put far right or left wing views in the public domain like that.

Plenty of people saying they won't follow the club anymore, other saying the club should only focus on footy and how dare they get Collingwood involved. Plus a few bigots.

It's a bit like a honey pot really.

I wonder what will happen when "OUR" Gay Pies Player eventually comes out??

Like I said before big deal.......its not like the Club is voting for them.

Australia was a pioneer on rights like women's suffrage but here we are wringing our hands on an issue that much of the rest of the world has delt with. Too bad our guttless leaders have played petty political games on this. Good on the club for making a statement but the sooner as a country we rubber stamp these rights and move on the better.

The CFC is a big organisation. Not even counting the supporters, there are bound to be many LGBTQIA people among its men's and women's teams and among the many people who work to support those teams. Their rights need to be supported, and I think it's good that the club is doing just that.

If you believe in something strongly, then say so. Pleased the club is doing this.

I suspect all clubs will follow our lead over the coming days/weeks.

Ignore the snowflakes.

We are not really being consulted BJ.

This is another sleight of hand from the endless conservative bag of tricks to obfuscate a contentious issue and drive divisions into interested parties.

They did the same thing with the Republic plebiscite years ago by forcing voters to select a 'model' of republicanism, thereby dividing the supporting vote and making the supporters defeat their own agenda.

The fact that the postal vote was challenged legally and attempts were made to sell ballot papers online demonstrates the conservatives and church will move heaven and earth to squash it.

Over and above everything else it's just an opinion poll and TOTALLY unbinding on the government.
