Pies' Priority

Do you think the Pies should apply for a priority pick on the back of the last few years of sustained misfortune with injuries?

Clubs like Melbourne are allowed to apply following sustained failure in recruiting/development, so maybe it's only fair that we can receive some justice for something that is (presumably) not a result of our own incompetence

Not so sure how the system works for priority picks but I could imagine that there would be a massive outrage by every other club in the AFL if we were handed a pick because of our current misfortunes..

Under current AFL rules, enacted from the 2012 season onwards, a club can receive a priority draft pick at the discretion of the AFL Commission. The Commission has flagged that a formula which will assist with determining whether or not a team receives a priority draft pick, and at which round in the draft that pick will be taken, is yet to be established, but that it will take into account quantitative measures, including a club’s premiership points over a period of years (with greater weight to recent seasons), its percentage over a period of years as another indication of on-field competitiveness (with greater weight to recent seasons), any finals appearances in recent seasons, any premierships in recent seasons and club injury rates in each relevant season

But seriously, Melb are a decent chance because they have won 14 games in 80 (or something like that). We would be next on account of the GH5 last year plsu we have been consistently down the bottom of the ladder.

I know the vast majority of you guys think it is ridiculous that you will get a PP but l know that a small minority would actually seriously consider it. Just like how the eagles think they can get Daniel Rich off us

It doesn't surprise me in the slightest. They don't respect us as a club on any level.

If it were left up to me any mention of a trade for Beams on our board from a Brisbane poster would be a cardable offense, but that's just my take...
