So easy to self destruct both internally and externally (supporters) at the club. What we must realise is the club is still in a rebuilding phase and this will do nothing but good for our younger guys in the long run.

Mick malthouse- press conference today was a disgrace. He said stuff like' i don't know what the problems were/ are, etc'. Mick, you're the coach, you're paid to find out and know these things. Maybe you don't want to give media the answers, but the problems today were blatantly obvious, so you're either blind or plain ignorant. He's the right man, but that crap he served up is ludicrus.Mick had a bad day in the box, everyone continues to learn.

Fowards- Notice how freo's foward line was nice and open. Pav still managed to boot 4-5 goals, but he constantly led up the ground aswell, creating space for fowards, eg: farmer with 5 to cause damage to our defence. Instead, when we had the ball pushing foward, our key's, ie tarrant and rocca would run BACKWARDS toward the goal, playing into the freo defenders hands and further allowing the dockers to log up our space. It's not rocket sience- if you're not being used, push hard up the field, to create space behind you. If you really want the footy, you go up and you call and run and run to make position.

O'Bree, Morrison, Fanning- Guys in your line up, you'll never win premierships. Sure they give their 100% but just plain and simple they'll never be good enough, hence the axe needs to fall.

Midfield/ Ruck- We know the ruck has been a problem since monky retired, but our midfield has been competitive, today we were smashed. Our inability to rove to sandilands was compounded by the likes of bell collecting 38 possies. When we did go one on one, sandliands had the class to tap the ball willingly. the pies desperately need to teach josh how to be a tap ruckman in the centre, rather than a crash and bash type. he has a leap, he has class, let's use those attributes. Further, guys like o'bree's disposal in close resulted in freo goals due to poor turnovers. They were not prepared to push hard foward to get front and centre and provide GOOD delivery to the fowards. the run has well and trueky gone out of our game. Instead of having dash come from the half backs through the corridor with overlap from the mids, we are playing start stop chip footy and playing wide down the flanks.

I've said this all along guys, so i'm not overly worried about what's happening. i knew this would come to bite us. Reality is compared with the rest of the comp, we aren't good enough... YET. We've got some great young kids, but at the same token our time is not here- not now. I know you're all bitterly disapointed because our expectations were lifted 10 fold after about round 10, when we thought we were definately legit.

I think we're still capable of 8th-6th, that's where we fall with the rest of the comp atm. Dont overrate us too much, because some of us, eg: steph are putting heavy burden on a gorup that has over performed to this stage of the year.

Today was a sad, disgraceful day for the club, but this just further proves that we aren't quite ready to be legit contenders yet.

Arnt legit for what? Ill tell you we are not Legit for the finals. We will not make it.

Westcoast - They will kick us by at least 40 to 50 points
Hawthorn - It will be close but i feel we will lose this
Adelaide - This will be the most embarrising loss for years 100points +
Essondon - The dons are due to break the drought, were gone
Port - We will lose by at least 40 to 50 points
Carlton - We should win
Kangaroos - This will determine if we get into the finals

Remember 4 or 5 weeks ago everyone saying the pies had played no one worth anything or no one above us on the ladder and Mick consistantly saying look we finished 15th last year so we have inproved a heap this year. Looking forward to Thursday night, please god there is at least 5 outs and 5 new guys who have a heart and are willing to use it against Westcoast. All i can say is thank god Sydney Freemantle Richmond and Melbourne all play each other next week.

I said last week we'd the miss the 8 and that was a detached obsevation. Somewhat shouted down.

I stand by that comment.

1 ruck and a few injures have bought us undone.

We contiued to get undone by opposition small fwds.

We are on the right track but some bumps along the way.

By and large satisfied with the season. Still have holes everywhere to fill.2 -3 drafts required.

Patience required. Living in singapore makes it easier !

I think we should realise that we did finish 15th last year, so to see where we are after 15 rounds this year (9-6) and sitting in 6th position is a very positive thing. Can't see a negative side to that. We didn't bring onto our list any experienced players from other clubs in the off season,we are just doing the right thing and bringing on youth. Unfortunately guys like Thomas, Pendlebury (who has been fantastic the last 2 weeks) will struggle as the season goes on, only because their bodies aren't used to the workload yet. And unfortunately our second tier players, who gave us great form in the first half of the season, like H Shaw, Swan, Davis and even a Didak have lost some of the spark and form that was there, so they were once perfoming at their maximum, now they are struggling to rediscover that form, so in turn the side is struggling.
One guy that should be looked at next week is Danny Stanley, he has some real grunt about him, looks very capable, and will add something to the side.
Others to be looked at for inclusion - T Cloke, Holland (we really need him), Egan (50/50).

Danny Stanley will be one of the last of last years draftees to get a run. IMO he hasn't shown any form that warranted pick 21 in last years draft. The next draftee to get a run (if another does) will be Cook. But I'd expect to see Rowe, Egan, T Cloke and Davies get games first.

Brodie Holland will be a walk up start as soon as he is fit.

Have you seen stanley play this year or are your simply basing your opinion on pre season reports that he is a tough nut. He has shown nothing to suggest he should keep his spot in the willi ones let alone play at afl level. he is a long long way off. And if you had seen him pley you would probably know this

Swan and heath shaw both in our best again yesterday . Didak easily our best forward yesterday. Sorry no offence intended but you must be watching different games than me.

The problem does not lie with our young players. They continue to impress. The problem lies with the likes of Obree(great early in the year but terrible over the last month) Lockyer, Licca(both get plenty of the ball but turn it over way to often) and lockyer gets destroyed by his opponents

The other major problem is that I think our biggest asset early in the year was the workrate our side had when we did not have the footy . In particular the forward half. Sides had to work very hard to work the ball out of our forward half and constantly turned the ball over which meant it came back into the forward line quickly giving our forward more scoring opportunities . In the last 3 weeks this has not happened. In fact it is the opposition that are now doing it to us. Instead of our backman quickly getting the ball into the forward line it is taking forever. Yesterday we won the clearances but without space in the forward line it made it tough for our forwards to score.

I am not overly concerned about our future because it is the yound players who are performing(plus bucks) I think we are having a mid season slump and will still make the 8. We will only be better next year when the likes of t.cloke and rusling will have a much bigger impact and pendles, thomas and egan get a bit more meat on their bodies.

Don't stress to much I think the future is bright-atleast alot brighter than i thought in the pre season

Collingwoods biggest problem is they are to soft, no mongrel in the team.

ITs funny when we are winning our supporters always refer to us as"WE" when we are losing they get referred to as "Collingwood"

Comes guys a little criticism is due but lets not be like Richmond supporters who bag their own at the drop of a hat. I do agree that the side could do with a but more grunt . But i wasn't too much of a problem against Sydney who have the most grunt in the comp.
