I cannot believe what I have just seen! In the closing seconds of the game Artest fouled Wallace as soft as you would see and Wallace went back at him. This was only the beginning. Artest was on the bench and a fan has gone up to Artest and tipped a drink on him which sparked a brawl in the crowd involving fans and players.Larry Brown had to get on the mic to calm the fans down. What a disgrace by Pistons fans. Game wasn't able to be completed. Guessing the win goes to Indiana. Worst brawl I have ever seen in nearly any sport involving fans and players.

Apparently Artest got whipped by a towel from some fan, Jermaine O' Neal got a beer thrown at him, and Jackson and Artest were kicking some bald white guy's ass in the crowd. Man the video for this is going to be hilarious to watch.

Holy ********! I was just reading about this and it sounded ********ing insane! I guess Ron Ron's gunna get that month off that he wanted!

They better show it on sports tonight some time this week. Funny s*** i'm sure. It was 97-82 to the Pacers according to yahoo btw.

i saw it on tv, from what i can remember it went something like this:

Ben Wallace went up for a lay up, Artest fouled him, it was pretty soft (it was a foul, i mean soft as in intent), their was contact but not malicious imo, Wallace then went upto Artest shoved him around the throat area, then both benches cleared with pushing and shoving going on, Artest was lying on the commentry(?) table looking like it was no big deal, a fan from the crowd threw a drink on him, then artest went nuts and stormed to get the bloke, with another pacer player, a couple of punches were thrown, both teams had people go into the crowd to break it up, they finally managed to get artest(i think it was) of the court, he had his hand in the air, and the crowd was throwing drinks and pop corn and stuff like that at him, and the other pacers that were going to the locker room had the same crap thrown at them.

and this about it, pacers win according the commentators.

imo Wallace fault for starting it, it wasn't something worth getting upset over, the espn commentator said something similar, Artest was just stupid lying on the table and looking so smug, and the detriot crowd were also stupid, as was Artest for rushing the dude in the crowd.

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) - Indiana's Ron Artest and Stephen Jackson charged into the stands and fought with fans in the final minute of their game against the Detroit Pistons on Friday night, forcing an early and ugly end to the Pacers' 97-82 win.

The game was stopped with 45.9 seconds remaining when a pushing and shoving between the teams spilled into the stands after fans began throwing things at the players near the scorer's table.

``It's the ugliest thing I've seen as a coach or player,'' Pistons coach Larry Brown said.

After several minutes of players fighting with fans in the stands, the Pacers were pelted with beer, ice, and popcorn as they made their way to the locker-room in one of the scariest brawls in an NBA game.

The Palace announcer said the game was being stopped and pleaded with fans not to throw things.

It all started when Detroit's Ben Wallace went in for a layup and was fouled hard by Artest.

Wallace wheeled around and pushed Artest in the face. The benches emptied and punches were thrown.

As the players continued shoving each other near centre court and coaches tried to restore order, Artest lay on his back on the scorer's table.

Just when it appeared tempers had died down, Artest was struck by a cup thrown from the stands. He jumped up, and charged into the stands, throwing punches as he climbed over seats.

Fans were punching back, and Jackson and another teammate joined Artest in the melee. A Pistons player came running into the crowd.

Detroit's Rasheed Wallace and Indiana's David Harrison were also in or near the stands.

As the crowd roared, drinks and debris showered the court and the Pacers players covered their heads as they hustled through the runway leading to the locker-room.

Biggest report on it so far.

Didn't get to see the match but Artest had something like 17 1st quarter points ?

Beautiful. I still think we'd have have pantsed them with a fit O'Neal last season.

So whats gunna happen now? Dont players get suspended when they come off the bench and on to the court during a fight? Surely they wont do that in this situation...But I can see Artest, Jackson & O'Neil getting some long ass suspensions.

But what about the Pistions fans? Will they do the soccer thing and ban fans from there home games for awhile so the Pistons will play in an empty arena?

Haha, I am definatly going to watch the replay tongiht

8 o'clock on ESPN

AHha good post yze

The part where Artest smacks that pistons fan with the hat on is ********ing hilarious

Man it sounds like Jermaine nearly killed a guy with that running punch! He hit the guy so damn hard he fell over himself!

the whole fight is there - start to finish

Ron Artest is a ********-en pu-ssy

Ben Wallace pushed him like a rag doll at the start, and Artest crapped his pants

and that was only the start. Compulsory viewing

I don't agree with 99.9% of what you say, but this is very true. Ron didn't want any part of Big Ben, and then proceeded to act like a smartarse on the announce table. He is deadset lucky that he is still in one piece for going into the crowd, as is Stephen Jackson.

Must agree with Tragic, for the first time ever.

I love the way Ron Ron plays, but today again showed him up as a punk.

First his ********weak reaction to Big Ben (he didn't want any of that), then his smarmy crap when lying down, and finally his lunacy in attempting to bash a fan.

Knowing the NBA he'll get off lightly, but given his history and the seriousness of physically assaulting a fan, he should get the book thrown at him.

I just saw this on SportsCenter and I have to say, it's one of the most disgusting things I've seen in all the sports I watch. I heard it was bad, but bloody hell, that was pure lunacy from all 3 parties involved (Pistons, Pacers and fans).

What really saddens me is Jackson. This cat found his niche in San Antonio under the guidance of Pop - now he'll have the reputation of a nut job and thug because he isn't controlled in Indy. This guy can be a star player, but come on man....

When Rasheed is doing his best to stay out of the action, you know that things have gone too far. Good on Rasheed though, Detroit has done him wonders.

Tinsley sickens me. Coming out of the rooms with a dustpan? ********en cheap act. If you are going to fight, fight like a ********en man. Tinsley is a piece of trash.

All in all, this is a sad day for basketball. Unfortunate that Artest and Jackson were nearest the 'cup' incident as both have a temper and both would go nuts if they saw the other doing so. If it was a player with a different demeanour, well...this never would have happened.

Blame falls on all parties. Disgraceful incident that will take the shine of things like Wade's star game.

I feel sorry for Artest in all of this. Tried to not get in trouble by sitting on the scorer's bench then some ********wit throws a bottle on him. In that situation with that much tension, a lot of players would have gone after the person that did it if they saw who did it clearly, like Artest did.

And JON's clean hit of that fat ******** was unreal.

So he doesn't go mental and he's a pussy, then he does and he's a nutcase who deserves the book ?

How did Tayshaun go btw ?

Any suspension a pacer gets should = empty stands in detroit for the same period. Players should be protected from that rubbish.

Amazing. YOu agreed with me? I am in shock

And yes, Artest is a great basketball player. Phenomenal even. But as a person, he is a god damn lunatic
