There are some things that you don't find funny, but you can understand why others do find them funny. With this, I just don't understand what's so funny about it.

Sure, anyone can do it, but most choose not to, because, you know, there's absolutely no point. I know not every action we undertake as humans has to have a specific purpose, and people do lots of things "just because" and/or "just for a laugh", but it's a lot of set-up/effort to go to (especially if people are putting themselve in dangerous situations to do it, a la the person who apparently plummeted to their death) for very meagre lulz IMO.

The Facebook group "Planking? I'd rather not be a f**kwit" probably sums it up best.

I can understand an artistic appeal in a 'society says you're not suppose to do that' way.

It's a tragedy for this guy's family but from the sounds of things he had a big night on the town and alcohol probably had as much impact on the death as planking.

i too had never heard of it.

is it not a sad indictment on the media in our country that this was page four of a one of the most read papers in the country.

imo it probably had a lot to do with the below unfortunately.

i reckon it's most likely this guy had never heard of it till the last few days and on the piss he and his mate have decided to get stuck in....
