Did some important things in the 2nd half if you can't see that you are fking kidding yourself.
No doubt, but so did McEntee as far important things go

I’m not having a crack Jimmy but even the most optimistic Marshall fan has to concede he’s not having enough impact

My favourite moment was when Webster destroyed Marshall in a one on one and then moments later Webster kicked a goal from 50 that went over Todd’s head because he was on the goal line whilst his man roamed free.

He also ducked his head when he could have held an uncontested match sealing mark in the middle of the ground.

To his credit he did kick an important point.

I've been one of the Marshall defenders but before someone brings up his last quarter mark, Georgiades was basically next in line to mark that ball anyway so that was less about Marshall and more about the Saints defensive setup in that situation.

Yeh let’s go through every moment with a fine tooth comb and dissect why the situation favoured him. He wasn’t good but also did a couple of courageous things in defence and his last qtr was pretty good.

I know our forward line is depleted but you just can't keep him in the side after his last 2 games

Feel free to explain how the player that replaces Marshall helps our stuttering halfbacks which have gone to hell the second half of the year, or our midfield?

unless the defence and midfielders are chipping it sideways and then bombing it long because of Marshall, its really hard to understand any possible reason that he's the cause of our problems.

address those issues. funnily enough our forward line looked 100% better when these areas were more competitive earlier this year.

If Marshall goes out were just going to be getting games into the 33rd guy on our list like a woodcock or mcintee. guys who are incredibly unlikely to even be on the list next year.

Also, what happens to Dixon and Georgiades if Marshall is out.

If we had another KPF to slot in there, I would be with those calling for Todd to have a spell. But we don't, so I'm not.

I’m not saying this to trigger team Todd but Mayes had more impact today

That’s not even hyperbole that’s just how it is needs to offer more plain and simple

He was very poor in the first half today, but worked his way into it. Overall I'd keep him in ahead of Ladhams. It really depends on whether we continue to try to play 4 tall forwards.

Dixon had also barely touched the ball at half time, I think he had 3 touches. I'd rather use Dixon as a 2nd ruck because it gets him involved and improves his forward play, IMO.

Marshall is still a better target than Ladhams if we're choosing between them. He obviously needs to play better than he did today, but he's still KPF3 on the depth chart at this stage.

since we've had Marshall in the side Dixon takes far fewer strolls up the ground.

years back this used to frustrate us all a great deal seeing Dixon up the ground. not cause he isn't useful up there but cause once he's up there we suffered for the next kick.

Marshall goes out I reckon we send Dixon up the ground a lot more = georgiades draws more attention near goals.

I don't think the sky falls in, but I think it makes it harder for them and us.

Fantastic last quarter. His usual liquorice allsorts in the first 3, more nothing than bad or good.

we definitely didn't look too tall today. if anything they played Marshall well up the ground, lad hams was in and out of the f50 so we weren't as big up forward as we were made out to be.

georgiades , Dixon , marshall and ladhams are all pretty decent ground level players. georgiades suprisingly the worst ground level out of the 4 of them (but can make up for it with speed in a foot race anyway).

I don't think we've got any smalls that push anyone out really. there's Williams , but we've already got players who could make room for him anyway.

Gotta clunk it though, don't you? Playing it down just seems petty.

I wouldn't even bring it up if it wasn't for idiots last week saying Marshall had never taken a pack mark and wasn't capable of it.

Anyone using that game as an example of Marshall’s worth is right to.

That’s all he’s worth to us!

Easy to replace. 10 possessions and 1 behind is Farrel level shit.

Georgiadas is so far past him it’s ridiculous.

As a pure forward, I agree with you. However Ladhams brings a ruck element, a chop out for Lycett that we otherwise don't have. We would literally have to play Charlie in the ruck otherwise.

With that in mind, for team balance, I'm picking Ladhams.

Kicked a goal when the game was to be won

Vs

Kicked a goal after the game was done and dusted.

That's the only thing that matters isnt it?
No it isn’t I was being facetious with the Mayes comment so don’t attack the stupid joke

Marshall can’t and simply doesn’t compete like Charlie does even though he’s in the prime to you know actually do that

Look maybe find a paper bag breathe into it for a few minutes and come back

if you think that performance today was good contrasted with what Mitch has produced with half as much time in the system and 10cm in height you’re letting your bias cloud your view
