Yeah okay, because 6 months will result in all of those players breaking down. The age 30 doesn't mean every player automatically becomes a sub standard footballer. They won the flag, the best team in the competition for 2013. Get real.

Gumbelton is the difference between top 4 and top 2 for Freo? The same guy who struggled to get a game for us? Get real son, stop posting about football.

I'm sick of reading this quote over and over in this thread.

Our forwards were never awful - it was the delivery to them that was the problem. Kicking it on to the head of Davey and Jetta all year did my head in as they struggle to take overhead marks consistanly at the best of times. Crameri, a bull and tough to beat on a lead - lets put it on his head too. We struggled to kick to our strength up forward too many times and got found out. No wonder Stew wants out.

As much as his time is to move on, Gumby straightened us up when he played as he was always over a 50% chance to take a mark.

That is completely contradictory. Shouldn't we keep the one guy who apparently can take a mark even when the delivery is awful?

Dysfunctional forward line, we just wasted it. It was a mirror of the prelim Geelong were lucky to lose by 5 points.

We will pick up Chapman

Agree - the better scenario would be Ryder playing more forward (moves like a mid when he wants to) and TBC playing no. 1 ruck....as we know Paddy just disappears when he plays forward for long stretches though, so won't happen.

Problem is TBC is probably the best contested mark out of the 4 of them, and probably will be until JD has 60 games under his belt (and another 10kgs).

CringeWorthy that vid, listened to the first 10-15 seconds of it, immediately paused it. Whoever that was in the podcast, who gives a **** about what carlton did wrong with thier list, you can only hope for more wrong decisions.

Here's the guys who I'd be looking at getting via free-agency next (assuming we don't do much in trade and free agency this year). I understand we wouldn't get all of them (maybe none but they would all help in one way or another:
Andrew Walker (For mine would be THE perfect replacement for Crameri and I'd almost go as far as saying he'd be an upgrade on Crammers, his versality would also add another element to the side).
Bryce Gibbs (Finally given a consistent run through the middle and was one of Carlton's best more often than not this year for mine).
David Mundy (Would definitely be among Freo's best 3-5 mid's, and would help Watto out with clearances).

That proves my point. We are not where Hawthorn was last year- they had just played in a GF. Even allowing for the ASADA we were going to finish at best 5th. We are not in the top 4, NDS is not the player to take us from 5th to premiers...he isn't Gary Ablett for crying out loud! We need to be realistic we are 12 months away at least, our goal should be a top 4 finish and a preliminary final. That is why I would target David Mundy as then we are in a position where we can gamble on a few free agents. Chappy is less risk- cheap and we know what we can get!

Chapman picked up as delisted FA
Dal Santo picked up as free agent.

To get the NDS FA deal over the line I'd even trade Jetta (to free salary cap) for a pick downgrade. Ie Jetta and our 4th rd pick for Saints 5th rounder. Yep we give him away to encourage Saints not to match our offer. Similar to the infamous Veale deal many years ago.

Oh gosh, we have enough draft penalties as it is, do we really want to borderline tamper with the draft. If we want NDS we can fit him, that said I hope he goes to North personally.
