Does it endorse GWS as a good club or does it simply mean they offered him the most money. hmmmm

i heard the 4 million figure being thrown around late last week...

Although he would get to live closer to his brother, so there is that

If we can jag Vince for a pick in the 40's it would be a good get, just turned 28 and would add more depth to our midfield.

Can't see it happening though.

Monumental doucheness avoided - would have been a stain on an Essendon Guernsey IMO.

I dont think he was a huge upgrade for us in the backline after seeing what Baguley did this season id prefer to develop him.

TBH i dont think hes going to be a great get for GWS either. Just his explosive, uncontrolled and unpredictable nature will be tested at its best. I cant see H.Shaw enjoying the sense of not being able to win and the amount he yells at a captain just imagine how much of a go he has at much younger guys who will all of a sudden become scared to back themselves in.

He also comes with a huge pay packet next to his name and id rather keep that for the best FA years which are the next 2 years to come.

Certainly wont be 4 mill over 5 years but will be hefty.

@The_Red_Sash: Peter Gordon "We are behind the AFL on this...." I bet you wish you didn't say that now Pete?
Oh Crameri, where are you now?

Tweeted by The Red Sash? Wonder what's happening? Crameri going somewhere else?

Some people really want responsibility and Shaw wouldn't have got it else where because he has already been painted with bad boy brush. Chuck him in the midfield with all the kids and tell him to set an example, personally think it could be the making of him.

Well there you go. The top teams always keep getting top young players. Caddy to Geelong, Anderson to Hawthorn and now Adams to the Pies.

Would be great to snare a good talented young midfielder. Will set us up nicely.

We had a decent crack at Caddy, but yeah, I agree with what you said. Can't believe how 'easy' it was for Gold Coast to get Jack Martin.

The next couple or years we will see more VIC kids looking to come home from the expansion teams... Hopefully we can jag one or two quality youngsters then.

I just don't see how Shaw is a good fit for GWS.

Maxwell and Buckley could barely keep Shaw on a leash so who is going to stop him from unloading at his teammates at GWS? None of the youngsters will be able to keep him in check; furthermore, he'll be setting a bad example for the rest of the players.

Is Sheeds still at GWS in some form? If so, he'll deal with him.

disagree...Shaw is one of those simpletons who's own ego will go down a few notches after the embarrassment of being rejected by his Pie 'mates' and the coach.

Fully expect him to have a good hard look at himself and do the right things at the Giants.

He can't be that stupid to continue to carry on the way he did at Collingwood..

The Bombers were close to being Shaw's choice of club, but will now look concentrate on securing St Kilda's Nick Dal Santo — if he becomes a free agent.

The move would steal North Melbourne's thunder.

The Bombers under new coach Mark Thompson have again contacted Dal Santo’s management and renewed their interest in recent days.

Dal Santo was seen to be headed to the Roos given they could acquire him as a free agent and trade key defender Luke Delaney to the Saints for a late pick.

But, while Essendon would not confirm if it had offered him an improved three-year deal, it is again keen to secure him after meeting the Saint weeks ago.

An Essendon source said yesterday the club would only look at Dal Santo as a free agent.

“We are waiting. We will look at taking steps if he is a free agent.’’

Dal Santo’s friendship with Essendon best-and-fairest winner Brendon Goddard could help him get to the Dons, but both clubs would be attractive on-field propositions.

North Melbourne and Essendon expect Dal Santo and St Kilda to make a decision on his status as a free agent or contracted player in the next 24 hours.

Even if North Melbourne believed it had a better package to offer St Kilda given the Delaney sweetener, that is irrelevant if Dal Santo wants to be a Bomber.

Free agents can nominate their club of choice, so he could accept an Essendon deal even if it was more beneficial to St Kilda for him to go to the Roos.

The Roos have also ruled out acquiring Dal Santo as anything other than a free agent, denying they had packaged pick 26 and Delaney for the All-Australian.

Essendon is likely to secure triple Geelong premiership star Paul Chapman late in the week if a medical in coming days is positive.

Chapman, 31, played just eight games this year given a recurring hamstring injury but had played at least 19 games a year for the previous decade.

Seems it's just a matter of convincing NDS to chose us if he becomes a free agent.

I like every line in that article

Might as well stop talking about it because it's never going to happen. Getting too old, best form was a long time ago, doesn't fill a need, seems a bit of a lad. If we hand over a 2nd rounder or a player who isn't Jetta for Vince i'll hand in my BF membership (not out of disgust, just shame).
I'll do the same if we don't draft garlett..
