Damien Adkins - will take a while to get into the team, but once there will be a very dangerous weapon along the half forward line. Has the potential.
Drew Banfield - the old rock of the team showed signs of ageing last year, amidst signs of being as solid as ever. I think the ageing will come to the fore, and he may struggle to get a regular spot in the squad :(
Zachary Beeck - with Cox, Seaby and Gardiner in front of him, and capable part time rucking back ups in Gaspar and MacDougall, won't get a look in unless injuries hit.
Michael Braun - he's just come of age last year, having his best season in ages, and I reckon he'll continue to improve this year as a defensive midfielder.
Sam Butler - don't know enough about him, but can't really see him playing much senior footy unless woosha looks to blood him against Carlton or something like that.
Trent Carroll - will play a lot of the year due to lack of key defenders, but as usual won't do anything special, and will have some ordinary games. delisted at years end.
Callum Chambers - will start round one this year, and will play 18+ matches at least (unless injury hits). will continue to be the guy who is injected into the match late in the first, early in the second, and have an impact.
Daniel Chick - solid as usual, playing hbf, and as a low possesion, hard hitting midfielder. will do the job.
Michael Collica - i have an inkling he may have a season like 2003 which is dissapointing, because he's a better player. he came into the side and had mixed performances, but I think woosh may look to harden up the defence with someone like Waters.
Ben Cousins - will dominate. will be the year where he goes from just outside the top 10 in the league, to entrench himself well inside for mine.
Dean Cox - will just keep doing what he's doing, and depending what happens with Mark Seaby he may end up at another club at the end of the year - he has tremendous trade value, but until another ruckman steps up his is vital to our team. will play alot of the year at FF/CHF for mine.
Andrew Embley - the big x-factor. will he conitnue his 2003 dream, or slip back to pre-2003 form?? only time will tell.
Chad Fletcher - big year for CF i reckon. he'll be the vital link man in the midfield, and will push for AA honours.
Michael S. Gardiner - like Embley he is an x-factor. will he continue with what he did in 2003, or go back to the inconsistent man of the past?? if it's the former, given the improvement of the youngsters around him, watch out AFL.
Travis Gaspar - the third x-factor we come across. If he gets on the park, we look a very dangerous proposition because it frees up MacDougall. think he'll play the majority of the year at CHB.
Darren Glass - the reliable, unflashy FB. will do some good jobs, some average jobs, and some ordinary jobs, but if we can Gaspar fit and at CHB rather than Carroll, Glass won't look so bad.
Kasey Green - big year for him. didn't have his best year, and there is plenty of pressure around for small backline positions with only wirrpunda assured of one. He'll start round 1 you'd think, and what happens from there is upto him.
Ashley Hansen - will finally be given a go, but i think he'll be gone at the end of the year.
Jeremy Humm - must produce the goods this year, or he'll be fighting for his AFL career. He's got the guts and tenacity, but lacks in just about every other area.
Adam Hunter - after DW probably the best bet to be assured a flank/pocket position in the backline. Along with BW and the impact bursts of DC in the backline, i feel he'll add some much needed toughness to the team.
Glen Jakovich - in his twilight year, expect to see him coming off the bench to play in the forward line, occasionally in the backline if really needed. don't expect him to produce big games week-in week-out.
Paul Johnson - can't see him fitting into the squad unless he breaks out at WAFL level or there are a few injuries, but he'll be given another year or two at least after this to prove himself.
Rowan Jones - keep plugging away on the HFF, every now and than on the HBF. good height and can take a good mark, and proves difficult to match. one of the unheralded heroes of the team.
Chris Judd - the package will be looking to atone for a few dissapointing performance late in 2003, but i reckon he'll do so with AA colours. Possible B&F as well.
Daniel Kerr - i think he may just plateau a bit for a year or two, but still an ever reliable part of our midfield. dangerous when used as a forward option.
Quinten Lynch - another x-factor. he'll get a game for sure, the question is where will he play. I'd like to see him get a run at CHB, and it's upto him what happens from there.
Phillip Matera - a big chance for another AA spot, but must continue to do what he does, and start to produce away from home.
Daniel McConnell - look up Sam Butler.
Andrew McDougall - will rotate between FF and CHF for the vast majority of the year, and will top the goalkicking for the club.
Chad Morrison - will find himself back into the team reasonably early in the year, if not round one, and will produce the form that makes him such a vital part of the club.
Kane Munro - similar to Humm in that he must produce if he wants to stay in the club. has the skills, just not the toughness and tenacity. if you combined KM and JH, you'd have one hell of a small footballer.
Mark Nicoski - will get a few games here and there and depending what he does in those will decide what happens with his career.
Ashley Sampi - the other forward pocket in the club, will move up the ground to a HFF for most of the year, with bursts in the midfield.
Mark Seaby - will get a run, but i think he'll spend most of his time at FF, unless Cox or Gardiner get injured. If he shows he has what it takes in the ruck, than DC may very well get traded, and he does have tremendous trade value.
Adam Selwood - much the same as 2003, where he'll get a few games now and than, but i think we'll have to wait till 2005-2006 before he becomes a regular.
Brent Staker - hard to find a spot in the team for him, but he'll be there from round 1 IMO. probably start most games on the bench, and will be used as a floater, playing up forward or down back where he is needed to fill in.
Beau Waters - will be one of the best first year players from the 2003 draft, as the hard nut HBF woosha type we've been looking for. will go close to rising star award.
David Wirrpunda - will push big time for AA, as he continues to improve on his 2003 in the bp.
Josh Wooden - will struggle for game time i reckon as the rest of the squad improves, and may find himself on the scrapheap.

Don't know enough about the rookies at all.

Team for Round 1 at this very early stage (assuming no injuries)

B David Wirrpunda Darren Glass Beau Waters
HB Daniel Chick Travis Gaspar Adam Hunter
C Chris Judd Ben Cousins Andrew Embley
HF Ashley Sampi Dean Cox Rowan Jones
F Brent Staker Andrew McDougall Phillip Matera
R Michael S. Gardiner Daniel Kerr Chad Fletcher
Int Glen Jakovich Callum Chambers Mark Seaby Michael Braun
Em Quinten Lynch Drew Banfield Chad Morrison

rest, in pecking order: Michael Collica Kasey Green Damien Adkins Josh Wooden Kane Munro Trent Carroll Jeremy Humm Adam Selwood Mark Nicoski Paul Johnson Ashley Hansen Zachary Beeck Sam Butler Daniel McConnell

Damien Adkins – Won’t see much of him in 2004. 0-6 games.

Drew Banfield – Will struggle to hold his place IMO. Still has a role to play but his lack of place is exploited by forwards far too often. 5-18 games.

Zachary Beeck – A solid backup. May play some games up forward or in the ruck if people get injured. Doubt we’ll see too much of him. 0-5 games.

Michael Braun – Can hopefully follow on from his late 2003 form. 18-22 games

Sam Butler – Will take a year to develop. May get some game time later in the season. 0-3 games.

Trent Carroll – Hard to tell what 2004 will bring. Starting to get old and is not the preferred option but Woosha likes to reward form. 5-20 games.

Callum Chambers – Make or break year for Callum. Needs to kick goals from HF because he can be exploited the other way. 5-20 games.

Daniel Chick – Played well when injury free. Hopefully will have a more consistent year. 22 games.

Michael Collica – Needs to stay fit and play well or could be a surprise delisting at the end of the year. 1-20 games.

Ben Cousins – Hopefully he is over his foot problems and should press for another B&F. 22 games.

Dean Cox – Gardy will struggle for fitness early in the season. Still a very important backup. 5-20 games.

Andrew Embley – I’m predicting Embers will have another very good season playing on a wing and up forward. 22 games.

Chad Fletcher – A top shelf left-foot midfielder who, all things being equal, will have another good season. 22 games.

Michael S. Gardiner – Worried about his lack of preseason. Hopefully it won’t take long for him to hit his straps. 22 games.

Travis Gaspar – Who knows how long this guy will stay injury free. For team balance I would like to see him as a regular CHB who pinch hits up forward. 22 games when fit.

Darren Glass – Will get the shot of confidence he needs by playing in defence every week. 18-22 games.

Kasey Green – Will have to work hard for a regular place in 2004. 5-18 games.

Ashley Hansen – We’ll finally see him play. After that its hard to tell. 1-5 games.

Jeremy Humm – Will play about 7-10 games again I think.

Adam Hunter – Will play almost every game and will take the third tall. 17-21 games.

Glen Jakovich – Will play almost every game and in bursts at CHF. 15-22 games.

Paul Johnson – Don’t think we’ll see too much of Paul in 2004. A year of development in the WAFL like Seaby this year. 0-4 games.

Rowan Jones – Is now a very capable AFL player and will play every game if fit. 22 games.

Chris Judd – Getting tagged every week may frustrate him but he is a professional and will deal with it well. 22 games.

Daniel Kerr – Worried about his shortened preseason. May take time to find his feet. 22 games.

Quinten Lynch – I think he will play a few games in 2004, probably at FF. 1-8 games.

Phillip Matera – Usual gig. Will kick 30-60 goals if fit. 22 games.

Daniel McConnell – Still at school, doubt he will play much AFL in 2004. 0-2 games.

Andrew McDougall – Will play every game mostly at FF and CHF but could even pinch hit on a wing like Reiwoldt. 22 games.

Chad Morrison – Woosha likes him and will play if fit. Defence is his go now. 15-22 games.

Kane Munro – Will need injuries or a bad drop in form by Matera or Sampi to get a gig. 0-10 games.

Mark Nicoski – Will play a few games on a wing or HBF in 2004. 1-10 games.

Ashley Sampi – Hopefully will play every game. Would like to see him in the midfield more often. Exciting. 18-22 games.

Mark Seaby – Woosha sees big things for him. I hope he is right. Vying for Cox’s position. 1-15 games.

Adam Selwood – Will play a few games. Has great endurance and is competing with Green, Nicoski etc for a gig on a HBF. 1-10 games.

Brent Staker –See him as a forward but is being groomed as a key defender. Think he will play 10-15 games in various positions.

Beau Waters – Very promising, don’t be surprised if he leap frogs a lot of players and plays quite a few games in 2004. 1-18 games.

David Wirrpunda – Would love to know how his preseason is going. Will get his usual gig in a back pocket but if he has done a decent preseason then he may play up the ground. 22 games.

Josh Wooden – Will struggle for a game in 2004 and beyond. 0-10 games.

Rookies:
Aaron Edwards – Couldn’t crack a regular gig at the mighty falcons. If he can’t crack a gig at WAFL level he won’t play AFL.
Michael Embley – A 2-3 year project who needs to put on at least 10kgs before he can play at AFL level.
Jaymie Graham – Injuries may see him crack a gig but I doubt it.
Brett Jones – If someone was to step up from the rookie list it would be him. Had a superb season for Claremont after no preseason and Bluey rated him very highly. Blitzed at the draft camp and will be a good player for us in the future.
Clancy Rudeforth – Not sure what to say really.

Think you're fairly close although I can't quite see Cox in a KPP (Gardiner perhaps or Seaby, but not Cox). I'll have a shot

B: Wirrpunda, Glass, Waters
HB: Chick, Gaspar, Hunter
C: Judd, Cousins, Embley
HF: Jones, McDougall, Staker
F: Sampi, Lynch, Matera

R: Gardiner, Fletcher, Kerr

Int: Cox, Jakovich, Braun, Green.

Seaby or Lynch are about equal for the 22nd spot I'd think at the moment, and I'd have Green in ahead of Chambers as I think we need more backmen in the team, especially if Glass has an off day and Hunter has to try to cover for him (and I'm not that sold on Chambers at the moment anyway). The names in bold are ones I think are almost certainties in their positions

Damien Adkins - Will need to reinvent himself as a back pocket specialist tagger to play on the mobile small men that always seem to worry the Eagles.

Drew Banfield - His diminishing pace will see him used sparingly throughout the year but only if Selwood or Greens' form drops off.

Zachary Beeck - Started to show his promise in the WAFL last year and will need another season before having an impact.

Michael Braun - Finally sorted out his injury problems and will excel this year.

Sam Butler - Develop in the WAFL with the chance of playing a game or two later in the season.

Trent Carroll - Will be outstanding at WAFL level but left there ala Quentin Lynch this year.

Callum Chambers - A regular bench player this year and will alternate throughout the year with Waters.

Daniel Chick - An injury free year which will give us a tough option all over the ground.

Michael Collica - Will see an end to his stellar career.

Ben Cousins - Injuries will force Cousins to sit out at least a third of this year.

Dean Cox - Will have a huge impact on the game making the Ruck position his for the taking which will give us the option of playing Gardiner in a forward position.

Andrew Embley - Will set a good example for his little brother and continue his 2003 form.

Chad Fletcher - Cements his place in the midfield.

Michael S. Gardiner - The form of Cox and Seaby give Gardiner the chance to recuperate from his injuries and spend time in the forward line.

Travis Gaspar - Given the role of CHB/FB in order to give his body a chance to recover from his injuries. Will play at least 10 games and will hit form towards the end of the year giving us more games in the finals.

Darren Glass - Will share the Full Back duties with Gaspar and will be a solid contributor throughout the year.

Kasey Green - Will be given more game time and develop into a great tagger.

Ashley Hansen - The leading goalkicker for Swan Districts takes a huge step and makes CHF his.

Jeremy Humm - Pinch hitter used only in times of injury.

Adam Hunter - Hits the weights big time and becomes a dominant third tall in the back line.

Glen Jakovich - Used mainly as an off field motivator and used sparingly when injury hits.

Paul Johnson - Spends another year in the WAFL only to be delisted at the end of 2004.

Rowan Jones - That boy Jones becomes one of the leagues premier run with players.

Chris Judd - Dominates ala Brisbane 2003 and wins the Brownlow.

Daniel Kerr - A consistent year similar to 2003.

Quinten Lynch - Shares the CHB position with the likes of Gaspar and Jakovich.

Phillip Matera - Learns to feed off of McDougall, Gardiner and Hansen in the same way he did with Cummings.

Daniel McConnell - Study and WAFL will see him develop for the next few years.

Andrew McDougall - A Tall, Marking, Leading Full Forward at last.

Chad Morrison - Will work on his pace over the Pre Season and will become a regular in 2004.

Kane Munro - The Money man will be lacking in the green stuff after being delisted in 2004.

Mark Nicoski. Will develop in the WAFL whilst playing at least 5 games on a wing for us this year. A bit more bulk and he will become a regular.

Ashley Sampi - Different role this year and will be given more opportunities around the ground.

Mark Seaby - To share the rucking duties with Cox.

Adam Selwood - More games this year.

Brent Staker - Move down back during the first half of the year won't suit his style of play and he will be moved forward where he can create space.

Beau Waters - Plays around 10 games after his scintillating WAFL form for the DEMONS.

David Wirrpunda - Shows Woosha that his performance based contract has given him the opportunity to make even more money this year when he takes out the clubs Fairest and Best and is third in the Brownlow.

Josh Wooden - Will become disenchanted with the lack ofv opportunity and nominate for next years draft without being picked up.

Rookies:
Aaron Edwards - Moves WAFL clubs from West Perth to Perth only to find he can't get a regular spot there either.

Michael Embley - Develop in the WAFL for 2 years and be delisted end of 2005

Jaymie Graham - His form during the year will see him elevated in 2005.

Brett Jones - Elevated 2005 after the retirement of Banners

Clancy Rudeforth - Woosha finally finds where Clancy hid the photos of him and his secretary and delists him in June

So WCS, what happened to Gardy he isn't in your round 22 team?

Nor is Cousins. Both injured. I allowed for injuries to two of our key players as it seems that every year we have an injury run towards the end of the year. Its a test of our so called lack of depth.

Yeah, what happened? poor pre-season? Did they get into a fight with each other? Did it involve his wife? Did it involve Quokas? We're dying for any sort of information!

Clancy Rudeforth - Woosha finally finds where Clancy hid the photos of him and his secretary and delists him in June [/B]

Is that the reason they keep Rookie Listing him?

I thought it was because of a rumoured affair with Trevor Woodhouse!

Damien Adkins Can kick a goal from anywhere inside 50. WIll be a reserve generally, could come on as a regular in case of injuries to midfielder or forward pocket.

Drew Banfield - Should be fully fit from knee injury in 2001. Fast and versatile, will be valuable off bench.

Zachary Beeck - Will continue to develop in WAFL and may see some game time.

Michael Braun - Best year ever last year, kicked three late goals to seal wins, and posted a fourth against Geelong. COuld go close in B&F

Sam Butler - DOn't Know him.

Trent Carroll - Solid unspectacular CHB. Seems to be popular with selection panel. Maybe he could do an Embley this year.

Callum Chambers - After performance in WAFL FInals should win back his place as 5th midfielder off bench. Speedy with a good kick can find the goal from anywhere within 50.

Daniel Chick - WIth SHoulder injusry behind him, he should have a solid year as a HBF, on the wing or HFF, or as a tagger.

Michael Collica - Again, injuries limited him this past season. WIth a full pre season, and with his past service to the club - 45 straight games over 2001 and 2002, he should win back his spot in the starting 18.

Ben Cousins - If he doesn't twist his ankle and play on it all year anyway he will win the brownlow.

Dean Cox - This man is our backup ruckman, and IMO will never be traded. He is simply too valuable.

Andrew Embley - Key to our premiership hopes. When Injured late in the year, we REALLY missed his presence on the field.

Chad Fletcher - Another X-Man. Probably the best ball getter off the ruck taps - Was really missed after injury, and showed it by his bog against Geelong in his return.

Michael S. Gardiner - What can be said about him, except, he's is the best and most verstaile Ruckman in the league. He has the agility and pace of a tall midfielder and is a juggernaut at CHF.

Travis Gaspar - THis is our CHF. I don't know why people keep thinking he will be in defense, but he can kick a goal from 60 out and if he stays fit, which is the big 64,000 dollar question, will be a key to our finals.

Darren Glass - Solid FB. Can only get better. Actually reminds me of MIlli with his grubber kicks. Just needs more confidence undre pressure.

Kasey Green - A HBF or back pocket who will be around for many years and will contriibute even more this year.

Ashley Hansen - Will get a game this year, one would hope.

Jeremy Humm - Tough nut but out of favour.

Adam Hunter - Our Keannu Reeves lookalike. Tough and hard. Hope he takes Lloyd out again.

Glen Jakovich - May be an elder statesman but his poise and football nouse are worth 2 rookies.

Paul Johnson - SHowed some promise in his one game, COuld be a tll HFF option.

Rowan Jones Strong Mark, speedy tall, innacurate in front of goals. If he fixes that, he is a star. OTherwise, he is a solid contributor.

Chris Judd - What can you say. If we can get Beau Waters to tag his tagger, and knock him off him every time he grabs Judd's jumper, he can win the brownlow too.

Daniel Kerr - Best in and under player in the side, and also the longets handballer I have ever seen. He is the neutron to BEn COusins PRoton around Gardiners Nucleus.

Quinten Lynch - WHo knows. I thought he would have been full time this year, but....

Phillip Matera - Probably wion't have to shoulder the burden of being the FF and Forward pocket specialist this year, and if he can kick 50 to complement MacDougal's 100, we are sweet.

Daniel McConnell - DOn't KNow

Andrew McDougall - Speedy Lead Strong Mark on lead or in PAck, Golf shot like distance on his kicks. Could kick 100 goals this year.

Chad Morrison - Valuable HBF or Back pocket. If he stays healthy he is always a starter. Can push up and kick goals too. HE kicked 6 in the WACA thriller vs bulldogs in 1998.

Kane Munro - Better than everyone thinks. Sweet kick in in front of goals, or from the deep forward pocket boundary. A bit more bulk on him will set him up as a regular.

Mark Nicoski - PRobably not see much action this year/

Ashley Sampi - The third prong of waht will prove to be the best FF line in the AFL this year.

Mark Seaby - WIll see limited action as a ruck or HF

Adam Selwood - Showed good signs last year and will see more action this year.

Brent Staker - I think He will be a regular on the HFF. SHows the poise of a Guy McKenna and alwaysseems to have lots of time to do what he wants with the ball. Good Kick for goal too.

Beau Waters - May see some game time, but will have a lot of very stiff competition.

David Wirrpunda - Best Clean up defenser in the business. Needs to be a tad more accountable, but the torpedoe kick-ins make up for that...sometimes.

Josh Wooden - Our Number one tagger. Fastest runner, and can push up the ground and kick a goal from 60 metres. Barring injury he will always be in the 22.

Rookies:
Aaron Edwards
Michael Embley
Jaymie Graham
Brett Jones
Clancy Rudeforth

We probably won't see much of these guys, except I suspect Clancy will ge promoted if there is a major injury.

We don't seem to be in the business of trading too many players - I honestly don't see us ever trading anyone, bar Haynes, who sees playing time consistently, ie Cox.

I know somepeople won't agree with me, but it's all just opinion anyway, isn't it?

t'is the season of making predictions that rarely become reality. Preseason competition generally shows a few players that have developed more than expected.
Of course the key question is as to whether last years game plan will become this years, ie all out attack in the square, or will we go back to including a tagger? If so then Jones would be back there, or Banfield if still capable. Sometimes these 29 year olds can turn back the clock, doing the extra miles in training.

I would see the probable starters (based upon las year mainly) as being :-

Gardy
Cuz
Fletch
Kerr
Judd
Embers
Braun
McDougall
Sampi
Staker (CHB)
Cox
Hunter
Morrisson
Chick
Fido
Wirra
Glass
Jones

which leaves 4 spots. Woosha says Gaspar wont be ready for round 1 so I've left him out.

It seems to me that there are a large number of players that could fill the remaining spots, how they pull up after the preseason will determine who gets them.

I'd like to think that Collica will come back to a defensive pocket, he reads the ball well like Metro did a few years ago.
Humm, Munro and Selwood are prime candidates to make the next step and Nicoski could be a suprise..
I dream of Lynch becoming a good FF or Johnson stepping up. Someone has to because I think Doogs is better at CHF. In fact CHF may become a problem with Doogs, Gaspar, Jako and Hansen all being suited to the position and Gardy often looking awesome there when Cox is on the ball.
I can't see Carroll getting a game unless injuries cripple us, but you never know. Perhaps Woosha is grooming him for FF !!! Let's face it, we don't have an established FF anymore with BB delisted and Haynes traded.

Strange times between the drafting period and start of preseason cup...not a lot to discuss.

okay, here's my attempt...

Damien Adkins- will struggle to get a game simply due to lack of skill and how much class there is in our midfield. Should be traded at the end of next season.

Drew Banfield-Solid veteran who should be at least a regular fixture on our bench.

Zachary Beeck-Another season playing wafl.
Michael Braun- i really like him, adds alot of quiet fight and spirit to our team. 22 games.

Sam Butler- this kid has the right attitude from what i can see from the few interviews he has given, training sessions ect. wish him all the best at west coast. might get 1-2 games if he's lucky.

Trent Carroll- surely we have young kids who are better than him who will be given a go first. Will only get a game through injuries and or any bad loss of form. Traded/Delisted in '04.

Callum Chambers- needs to gain at least 5 kilo's to be playing afl, he looks like a matchstick. until that happens he'll be stuck in the wafl.

Daniel Chick-should be a permanent HBF. His agression and toughness is wasted in the forward line. Will blossom off half back.

Michael Collica-see trent carroll

Ben Cousins- Champion. Will once again lead us to an ever improving season.

Dean Cox- No 2 ruckman and should play 22 games. Would like to see more of him in the ruck to take some pressure of Gardiner.

Andrew Embley-Key ingredient to our chances of sucess as he adds the flair and creativity to our midfield/half forward line. Plus he won't take crap from anyone. Will come close to a B&F.

Chad Fletcher-Key to our midfield attacking options. Provides the run and penetration that feeds our forwards.

Michael S. Gardiner- Clearly the most valuable ruckman in the game. Work around the ground is second to none. His form is the key to our sucess.

Travis Gaspar- alot is said but nothing has been produced. Waiting to see what this kid can really do. If he is half as good as the hype that surrounds him he will be our answer at CHF.

Darren Glass-Will get a game simply because we don't have anyone better. Will struggle on the classy FF's but we dont really have a choice.

Kasey Green-Like his work in the back half, the run he produces, should be a regular.

Ashley Hansen-another season in the wafl. Can't see him breaking through just yet.

Jeremy Humm-another phil read type player. I dont see his worth.

Adam Hunter-Provides the aggression hieght across half back, can play big or small. valuable player and we'll see him most of the season.

Glen Jakovich-see Drew Banfield.

Paul Johnson- Has the potential. Would like to see him given a go both forward and back.

Rowan Jones- doesn't matter that he cant kick. great overhead mark and is full of fight. Should at least make the bench every week.

Chris Judd- He is our x-factor. If he learns to break to tag's our midfield will be explosive and unstoppable. Still young and many people forget that. Give him time.

Daniel Kerr- Adds class and grit to our midfield, the only real in and under type we have at the moment.

Quinten Lynch- Has potential. Needs to be given opportunity.

Phillip Matera- the key to our forward line. Not just in his goal kicking, but also his presence and locking the ball into our 50. If he fires we will always kick a winning score.

Daniel McConnell- long term prospect, wont be seen for a few years.

Andrew McDougall-he is the answer at full forward. Really like this kid and should be given as many chances as needed to suceed at full forward.

Chad Morrison- Remember when he played state footy for the Vic's? if he can get back to that sort of form he will definately break back into our team and add another dimension to an already first class midfield.

Kane Munro-Will be lucky to get a game. Maybe through injuries/desperation.
Mark Nicoski-see above.

Ashley Sampi-adds excitement to our team. like to see him given a free role and allowed to run through the midfield. Who knows what he can do.

Mark Seaby- Might be given a chance to develop in the afl if we are looking to trade cox at the end of the season.

Adam Selwood- still developing, will spend alot of time in the wafl

Brent Staker-broke onto the scene last year and i would like to see him given his chance across half forward.

Beau Waters- Would love to see him given a chance to break into the team. Sounds like just the sort of hard nut we are missing.

David Wirrpunda-Makes our defence look organised and composed. Always steadies our rebounds with his run out of the backline. Kick ins are invaluable.

Josh Wooden- crap. Never liked him. Sooner he goes the better. Will loose his place to waters. Delisted in '04.

Damien Adkins - Make or break, I don't think he'll break into the side unless Judd or Embley goes down.

Drew Banfield - I hope Drew holds his place this year (a personal all-time favourite, like plenty of other people I'm sure), but I think it will be his last season.

Zachary Beeck - Not really sure, but if Gardiner goes down again, he may get a chance with more solid WAFL form.

Michael Braun - Continue his second half of 2003 form and he will become a vital part of the team.

Sam Butler - Not really sure so I won't say anything.

Trent Carroll - Trent cops a lot around here, pretty much the guy is just an average player, some experience now so should get some game time.

Callum Chambers - Would be hoping to recapture his 2002 form but with Embley and Sampi now also kicking goals, his chances may be limited in that role. Midfield chance if injuries hit, needs to be more consistent though.

Daniel Chick - Like most, would love to see him turn into a defender. I have a lot of time for Chicky, if he stays injury free, he will be a great part of the team.

Michael Collica - Hopefully can hit back after a bad 2003, experienced and solid enough, but may have missed his chance.

Ben Cousins - All I hope for from Benny is another great season hopefully without injury.

Dean Cox - Important player for sure, but I think he can still improve around the ground - will be interesting if he gets injured and Seaby gets a chance.

Andrew Embley - Awesome in 2003, if he can put in a repeat effort, that would be awesome. Great player at his best. This time last year, I never thought I'd say that.

Chad Fletcher - went from a solid campaigner to a class midfielder, like Embley, will be looking to back it up in 04.

Michael Gardiner - If he stays injury free (which he seemingly never has...), he is our most important player (sorry Cuz.)

Travis Gaspar - For the love of god, stay fit. If he plays, I'm confident he can be a good contributor.

Darren Glass - Just looking for solid improvement from Glassy - good Fullbacks aren't built in a day.

Kasey Green - I like Kasey, I hope he can truly cement his place but I think he still has a fair bit of improving to do.

Ashley Hansen - Looked good at times for the black ducks this season - seems likely enough but would need to play some great WAFL footy to get a call up.

Jeremy Humm - Hummers last chance in 2004, Not class enough to be in our midfield but if he can become a tough little defender, he could win a place.

Adam Hunter - Big fan of Hunter, great size and if he improves his skill level a bit more, he can become an important player I think.

Glen Jakovich - In what should be his last season, Jak is likely to be played off the bench - If a couple of young blokes can stand up in defense and give Jako the chance to play as the lose man, it could be awesome - a bit slow to take the majority of top forwards these days but I think he still has something to offer around the ground - natural ability and footy brains rarely abandon players.

Paul Johnson - Much the same as Hansen really - I just get the feeling that this guy won't cut it, hope I'm wrong though.

Rowan Jones - Another one of my favourites, if he can improve his kicking, he would be awesome, regardless, he is a great contributor, top mark and good footy brain.

Chris Judd - Keep on improving and learn how to truly shake off persistent tagging and sniping - a little more help from those around him would be good too..

Daniel Kerr - Same as Judd, Keep on improving and take the next step up to true class (Similar to how Haselby did at this point in his career)

Quinten Lynch - Make or break, I thought his form for the munchers warranted a selection in 03, but he now needs to back it up and crack the side in 04. Brings a bit to the table, could make a good CHB.

Phillip Matera - Keep his form up, I don't mind him kicking less goals if a more dominant FF emerges but a down year from Fido would hurt.

Daniel McConnell - Not really sure - more long term I hear ?

Andrew McDougall - Must truly make his mark in 04, showed some definite talent in 03 but must now grab his opportunity and run with it.

Chad Morrison - A return to his form in the late 90s would be great, but that's a long time ago now - I'm not holding my breath.

Kane Munro - I still don't think he brings alot to the table, stamp him with "use in case of emergency"

Mark Nicoski - I like the look of him in the WAFL, quite small but will no doubt bulk up, could be a good player in the future, don't know about 04 though.

Ashley Sampi - Must back up his flashy, but at times patchy 03 with a solid 04, would hope for 30+ goals if he's up forward, but would love to see him more around the ground too, looks class.

Mark Seaby - highly regarded, and finished high in the Sandover, could he bring more to the team (around the ground wise) than Cox ? interesting indeed.

Adam Selwood - Intriguing player, definitely a prospect but seemed a bit out of his depth when called up last year, I'm willing to give him time though, I like the look of him.

Brent Staker - Now here's a bloke I really like the look of. Would be hoping for a round 1 selection and do enough to hold his place from then on - pretty confident he will be a player for the future.

Beau Waters - Highly touted first draft choice. I have seen him written about as possibly being AFL ready so maybe he can step up and grab a place defense - not expecting too much though, he is just a rookie after all.

David Wirrpunda - Ahh Dave. Top bloke no doubt, but it's now time to stop trading off that "potential" and step up to legit star status. I'm sick of waiting for this - 2004 will be his 9th(!!) season, he has to improve his consistency, decision making and stay fit. Class player and important part of the team but it's now time to truly become a senior player - I don't think we have seen David at his very best yet.

Josh Wooden - Always had a soft spot for Josh, but really, can he grab a place in the team again ? Experienced maybe, but still makes stupid mistakes, I get the feeling 04 is make or break.

Rookies:
Aaron Edwards - Don't really know enough about him which might not be a good sign..

Michael Embley - Looks like Andrew after a couple of hours on the rack - long term prospect I presume.

Jaymie Graham - Don't really know much about him

Brett Jones - Saw him a couple of times for the Tiges in 03, looks good, I'm glad we picked him up - a bit older so he could be a chance for elevation if someone goes down (god forbid.)

Clancy Rudeforth - I can't say Rudey has impressed me too much, but they must see something in him.

Travis Gaspar - THis is our CHF. I don't know why people keep thinking he will be in defense, but he can kick a goal from 60 out and if he stays fit, which is the big 64,000 dollar question, will be a key to our finals.

I agree he is a better CHF than CHB, but we have an equally good CHF prospect in MacDougall (he is just as good at CHF as FF), and we really have nothing at CHB, which is why Gaspar is needed there.

Until we can get another key defender, Gaspar will probably be required in defence, because a spiner of say Lynch or Cox/McDougall/Gardiner/Gaspar/Glass, looks a lot more solid than McDougall/Gaspar/Gardiner/Carroll/Glass
(I always use ruckman in the spine - just my little thing)
